NORWAY TO BUILD TUNNEL FOR SHIPS
Norway's government announced plans for the first tunnel for large ships, to help them navigate a hazardous section of the country's southwestern coast.
The 1.7 kilometre (1 mile) Stad Maritime Tunnel will be carved into a mountain and link two fjords.
Tunnels already exist for barges, but the Stad tunnel will be used by large cargo and passenger ships up to 16,000 tonnes.

That's amazing project going on in Norway, and it is first tunnel which is going to be built exclusively for shipping and its height is about 45m, width of 36m and length of 1.7km. Here are some interesting pics and details.
