U.S. GOVERNMENT HYPOCRISY - IT CALLS FOR THE INTEGRITY OF IRAQ'S TERRITORY - BUT FOR THE PARTITION OF TINY ISRAEL

In his meeting with al-Nujaifi, Kerry said "these are difficult times." He said President Barack Obama and the American people remain committed to Iraq and are concerned about its security and the political chaos.

"But the principal concern is for the Iraqi people — for the integrity of the country, its borders, for its sovereignty," Kerry said.

On the other hand, John Kerry - and several US administrations in fact - have been bullying Israel for years urging its partition for the creation of a terror Palestinian state, which has no basis in history, international law, or viability.

Mr Kerry knows that an Islamic Palestinian state would be politically dysfunctional and would end up in a violent power struggle followed by the usual Islamic oppression of men, women and children, terror and the destabilization of the region.

That magazine uses more traditional imagery to promote the cause: mass executions, severed heads, and the violence usually attributed to terrorist propaganda.Al-Hayat is, nonetheless, run by Western Islamists that left their home countries to fight jihad in Iraq and Syria, which is the key distinction between ISIS and similar groups.

Given the exceptionally high number of Westerners joining ISIS, the promise of the joys of jihad appears to be working-- and the free play time with kittens can't hurt, either.

Israel Ranked as Best Country for Women in Middle East

World Economic Forum poll puts Israel way ahead of its Muslim neighbors in terms of women's basic rights and freedoms.

Israel is the best country in the Middle East for women's rights and freedoms, the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap survey concluded this week.

The survey, which has been conducted since 2006, ranks 110 countries in terms of gender equality and inequality, using a variety of factors including demographic data, socioeconomic figures, and a close look at women in the legal system.  In 2013, Israel ranked #53 for women's rights worldwide - up two places since 2012 - but top for the Middle East overall. Middle Eastern and Muslim countries ranked lower on the list, possibly due to their lower human rights records overall.

Thomson-Reuters noted recently that several Middle Eastern countries - Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and others - have a poor track record for violence against women, reproductive rights, as well as the treatment and role of women. Egypt bottomed out the list.   The report noted that the Comoros Islands have the best track record for treatment of women in the Arab world; while the tiny nation did not appear on the WEF list, Oman - which ranked second for the Arab world in the Reuters poll - ranked 122nd in this week's survey. Kuwait, which ranked third on the Reuters list, stands at just 118.

The survey's results were published in honor of International Women's Day, which was on March 8, and surfaces within days of reports that the Saudi Arabian royal family has been holding princesses captive against their will for several years.

Israel received the Reducing the Gender Gap prize in 2013 from the European Parliament for its efforts in championing women's rights.

The laws of the country permit women to live completely secular lives.

There is a segment of the population who choose to live in a religiously conservative manner, but there is no state-sanctioned violence as in Muslim society, where mere allegations of infractions (such as adultery) are the basis for punishment by stoning and death.

Religious Jewish women in Israel are free to live a secular life if they so choose.

Also note that statistics for Israel also reflect the customs of the 20% Arab population of the country with Israeli citizenship.

Arthur was a stray dog who decided to join a European Peak Performance Team during their treck through the jungle in South America. It all started when one of the members gave him a meatball. From then on Arthur followed them through all kinds of challenges. In the end his loyalty, bravery and devotion paid off.
