The United Nations has failed its mandate.  It is rife with corruption, and it has allowed itself to become ideologically weaponized by an alliance of despotic states that vote in unison in favor of an agenda promoted by oil-rich Arab countries.

As part of the Oxford Union Debate on the subject of "This House Believes the UN is a Failing Institution" last November, Professor Anne Bayefsky succinctly described exactly why it is true.

A SCANDAL:  UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency servicing Palestinian refugees, has continued to stretch its “temporary” existence for 66 years. This distinct refugee agency for Palestinians manages virtually no refugees anymore, but instead handles services for 5.4 million children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of people who left Palestine in 1948.

The UNRWA staff stands at 30,000, or 3.5 times the staff that the rest of the world gets for actual refugees. It services only 13% of the people that UNHCR assists helping all other world refugees.

AN ABSOLUTE MUST VIDEO to understand this issue:

More videos by Dany Ayalon:

  • BASIC FACTS:  Palestinian refugees are under the control of UNRWA, a UN organization separate from the more effective refugee assistance agency UNHCR
  • UNHCR has resettled millions of refugees from other parts of the world.
  • UNRWA has resettled none.  Palestinians are kept in camps to serve as a demographic weapon against Israel.
  • They have grown from 500,000 to FIVE MILLION since they left their homes.
  • They left because they were prompted to do so by invading Arab armies that wanted them out of the way so as to perpetrate mass genocide against Israeli Jews more easily.
  • A failed Arab genocide against Jews has turned Palestinians into perpetual victims - an Arab propaganda tool against Israel.  Millions of Arab wasted lives to serve the Arab leadership.
  • And Israelis are blamed for those Arab refugees - as if guilty for not having allowed Arab armies to massacre the Jewish population of Israel.

GENEVA, November 25, 2015 – The U.N. General Assembly’s 2015 session is adopting 20 resolutions singling out Israel for criticism — and only 3 resolutions on the rest of the world combined.  The three that do not concern Israel are: one on Syria, a regime that has murdered more than 200,000 of its own people, one on Iran, and one on North Korea. http://www.unwatch.org/un-to-adopt-20-resolutions-against-israel-3-on-rest-of-the-world/

Now for the first time we can see the UN chief Ban Ki-Moon admitting that yes, there is bias against Israel in the UN.  This won't stop him from continuing to repeatedly condemn Israel, while barely mentioning real horrors perpetrated by other countries.

UN Watch exposes never-before-seen footage of Ban Ki-Moon admitting 'bias against Israel, the Israeli people, and their government.'

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon admitted that the UN is biased against Israel, UN Watch exposed Wednesday night, in never-before-seen footage of a 2013 session with students participating in Rishon Lezion College of Management’s Model UN program.

"There is some bias against Israel, [the] Israeli people, and government," Ban stated.  "Israel is a member of the United Nations," he qualified. "Thus, Israel must be respected equally with all other 192 member states. Israel is 193."

UNITED NATIONS CAUGHT IN CORRUPTION AGAIN - War crimes Investigator was taking money from Arab terrorist organization PLO

By Anne Bayefsky

Four days ago, on February 2, the head of a U.N. commission of inquiry created to investigate war crimes in Gaza was forced to resign after it was revealed that he had taken money from the PLO for providing legal advice.

William Schabas’s U.N. job was to expose war criminals and recommend how to hold them “accountable.”

William Schabas’s PLO job was to show them how to use the International Criminal Court (ICC) to hold Israeli war criminals accountable. He didn’t think there was a problem.

His conflict of interest did not surface, however, until after the inquiry he was heading had “largely completed” its evidence-gathering, and the writing of the requisite report had begun, according to Schabas himself.

But instead of taking the only legitimate route and setting aside the whole tainted exercise, the president of the U.N. Human Rights Council, Joachim Rücker of Germany, claimed he was “preserving the integrity” of the inquiry simply by accepting Schabas’s resignation.

Recently resigned UNHRC war crimes panel head William Schabas - Not a good Schabas
William Schabas
The council — the U.N.’s top human-rights body — had voted to create the Schabas inquiry in the middle of the Gaza War last July. Palestinians garnered support from council members and human-rights authorities like China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The United States and the members of the European Union either voted against or abstained. A majority of the states that have seats on the council are not “fully free” (on the Freedom House scale).

The idea of the inquiry was to open a second front in the war, conducted by international lawyers, to tie the hands of Israeli decision-makers — political and military — behind their backs.

Hence, the Schabas inquiry’s mandate was to examine human-rights violations “in the occupied Palestinian territory,” not “in Israel.”

U.S. PRESIDENT DEFENDS ISLAM AND BASHES ISRAEL IN SPEECH AT THE UNITED NATIONS

Bad Muslim terrorists and Israel,
both denounced at the same time.
Again calls for Israel's partition.

And insists Islam is a religion of peace.

BREITBART - President Obama pledged to utilize American might in service to the United Nations, speaking grandly of the beauty and power of the world’s least effective and most morally bankrupt international institution.

There are a few problems, he said, with which we have to contend: Ebola, Russian aggression, terrorism in Syria and Iraq. And those problems, are “symptoms of a broader problem – the failure of our international system to keep pace with an interconnected world.”

The rise of disease, Obama believes, is because we haven’t invested enough in the United Nations, not because incompetent regimes upheld by the UN have failed their people.

Finally, he turned to the actual pressing issue of the day, Islamic terrorism. And he proceeded to explain that Islam is a religion of peace, no different from any other:

I have made it clear that America will not base our entire foreign policy on reacting to terrorism. Rather, we have waged a focused campaign against al Qaeda and its associated forces – taking out their leaders, and denying them the safe-havens they rely upon.

At the same time, we have reaffirmed that the United States is not and never will be at war with Islam.   Islam teaches peace.  Muslims the world over aspire to live with dignity and a sense of justice. And when it comes to America and Islam, there is no us and them – there is only us, because millions of Muslim Americans are part of the fabric of our country.

He stated that America rejected “any suggestion of a clash of civilization.” But Obama stated that we could fight those “religiously motivated fanatics” – fanatics who have nothing to do with Islam, of course, even if they are universally Muslim – by providing food and water and jobs.  He praised Islam as part of a family of religions that “accommodate devout faith with a modern, multicultural world,”

Obama proceeded to blame Israel for conflict in the Middle East:

Leadership will also be necessary to address the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis. As bleak as the landscape appears, America will never give up the pursuit of peace ("peace" as a widely used euphemism for the partition of Israel).

And the violence engulfing the region today has made too many Israelis ready to abandon the hard work of peace. But let’s be clear: the status quo in the West Bank and Gaza is not sustainable. We cannot afford to turn away from this effort, not when rockets are fired at innocent Israelis, or the lives of so many Palestinian children are taken from us in Gaza.

So long as I am President, we will stand up for the principle that Israelis, Palestinians, the region, and the world will be more just with two states living side by side, in peace and security.

The Israelis may not be the “main source of problems in the region,” but by pressuring Israel before the entire world just weeks after Hamas continuously fired rockets into Israel and shielded its own rockets with children, Obama demonstrates his desire to cast them as a problem leading to more violence. The moral equivalence between Gaza and Israeli victims here was stunning and unjustifiable.

However, Bin Bayyah himself has long been engulfed in controversy for many of his views, including the reported backing of a 2004 fatwa that advocated violent resistance against Americans fighting in Iraq.

UNITED NATIONS THE LEADING PURVEYOR OF ANTI-SEMITISM IN THE WORLD - Scholar and human rights advocate Anne Bayefsky accuses UN of inciting hatred against Jews with its unremitting campaign against Israel - LINK TO VIDEO

Anne Bayefsky
Anne Bayefsky
A leading human rights advocate accused the United Nations and its member nations of being “the leading global purveyor of anti-Semitism” and “inciting murderous intolerance towards” Jewish people during an unprecedented speech Monday at the international body’s headquarters in New York City.

Anne Bayefsky, director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust (IHRH), stood before the U.N. and lambasted it for fanning the flames of global anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel, according to a copy of her remarks.

Bayefsky delivered her rebuke during an informal briefing on the threat anti-Semitism poses to international peace and security that was organized on the sidelines of the U.N. by the permanent mission of Palau.

The UN refused to sponsor conference on anti-Semitism

While the briefing took place within the U.N.’s walls—and was attended mainly by members of the public and outside organizations—it was not formally sponsored by the international organization, leading Bayefsky to launch a scathing criticism.

“The U.N. is not having a conference on the threat that global anti-Semitism poses to international peace and security,” she said. “This is lunch-time. The courageous organizer, assisted by the principled representatives of the small state of Palau, is independent of the U.N. The facilities are not free.”

“But why couldn’t the U.N., founded on the ashes of the Jewish people, and presently witnessing a widespread resurgence in anti-Semitism, sponsor a conference on combating global anti-Semitism?” Bayefsky asked. “The answer is clear: Because the United Nations itself is the leading global purveyor of anti-Semitism.”

Bayefsky went on to criticize top U.N. officials and the organization for “mass produci[ing] inequality for Jews and the Jewish nation.”

“Photo-ops of the U.N. secretary-general and the U.N. high commissioner for human rights at the gates of Auschwitz are not an alibi,” she said, dubbing these worthless public relations moves.

“One does not honor the memory of Jews murdered by intolerance six decades ago by inciting murderous intolerance towards the remnant of the Jewish people in the here and now,” Bayefsky said. “Incitement to hate, like declaring Israel to be racist—as does the U.N. Durban Declaration—the flagship of the U.N.’s racist anti-racism program of action.”

The U.N. has vociferously criticized Israel and its military over the past weeks of indiscriminately waging war against the Palestinian people, a charge that critics such as Bayefsky said is rooted in the organization’s deep-seated bias against the Jewish state.

UN concern for human rights obsessively focused on Israel while real abuse occurs unnoticed elsewhere - Just look at the statistics

Around 35 percent of all resolutions and decisions approved by the U.N.’s Human Rights Council target Israel, Bayefsky said, noting, “That’s anti-Semitism.”

Additionally, 50 percent of the emergency sessions held by the U.N.’s General Assembly (G.A.) over the past 60 years “were convened to denounce Israel,” Bayefsky said, pointing out that no such session has been called “on any other state in other thirty years.”

In 2013, 70 percent of the G.A. resolutions targeting a specific country for human rights abuses focused on Israel, she said, adding that this is further proof of the U.N.’s anti-Semitic agenda.

The organization’s latest bid to delegitimize Israel focuses on accusing the Jewish state of war crimes in its most recent conflict with Gaza, Bayefsky said.

The UN has launched a legal pogrom against Israel

“Today U.N. anti-Semitism has taken yet one more treacherous turn. The U.N. has launched a legal pogrom against the Jewish state,” she said. “Hired guns, posing as independent arbiters, like William Schabas are appointed to discover what they’ve already found. Guilty!”

“Phony legal rules misinterpret proportionality to favor a more even number of dead Israelis,” she continued. “The Iron Dome [missile defense system] worked too well! And the International Criminal Court is poised to pounce.”

“Serious about never again?” she asked. “Then never forget that the perversion of the legal system is how genocide begins. A legal pogrom serves as a license to kill.”

Hot mic catches UN interpreter saying anti-Israel votes are ‘a bit much’

November 2013 - The truth comes out when we think no one else is listening

Under the mistaken impression that she was speaking only to colleagues, the interpreter uttered the following words into the headphones of every UN delegate, and before a live webcast audience worldwide
Even González had to stifle a laugh as the interpreter offered meek apologies

I think when you have… like a total of ten resolutions on Israel and Palestine, there’s gotta be something, c’est un peu trop, non? [It’s a bit much, no?]

I mean I know… There’s other really bad shit happening, but no one says anything about the other stuff.”

Laughter erupted among the delegates. “The interpreter apologizes,” said the unfortunate truth-teller, moments later, followed by her audible gasp. I sincerely hope she won’t get fired.

Because the one who should really apologize today is the UN. Founded on noble ideals, the world body is turning the dream of liberal internationalists into a nightmare.

For by the end of its annual legislative session next month, the General Assembly will have adopted a total of 22 resolutions condemning Israel—and only four on the rest of the world combined. The hypocrisy, selectivity, and politicization are staggering.

DISCREDITED UNITED NATIONS ADVOCATES FOR MORE NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS - But the UN is not interested or capable of helping mitigate the ongoing ecocide caused by Fukushima

The world must adopt nuclear power to beat global warming, scientists say in major UN report by their Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)

  • Instead, they must adopt nuclear energy sources to beat global warming
  • Total investment in 'large-scale changes' will be around £300billion a year
  • MPs warn spending on renewable energy could also raise living costs

The United Nations is mostly made up of Asian and African countries that desperately want to get their hands on the plutonium that results from nuclear reactors in power plants.  Plutonium can be used for the construction of nuclear weapons.   It's no wonder that their scientists support the expansion of nuclear power plants.

U.S. AMBASSADOR TO UNITED NATIONS' TWEET SAYS THAT JOURNALIST DANIEL PEARL'S DECAPITATION TEACHES NEED FOR ACCOUNTABILITY AND RECONCILIATION

From Elder of Ziyon website:

Monday, February 24, 2014

Samantha Power: Getting your head hacked off teaches "individual accountability and reconciliation"

This tweet from the US ambassador to the UN is mind boggling:

Excuse me? A man whose head was sawed off on video, specifically because he was a Jew, reminds us about how to break "cycles of violence?"

This incomprehensible leftist gobbledygook would be worthy of derision of it was spouted by some leftist professor at Berkeley. But for the US ambassador to the UN to publicly write this is breathtakingly naive and, really, offensive to Pearl's family. It is almost as if she is saying that Daniel Pearl would still be alive if he had only been more interested in "accountability and reconciliation" with Al Qaeda and Pakistani Islamists.

Is this what the US has become? Is the official position of the US government  that all that is needed for world peace is for Westerners to be more sensitive to the feelings of murderous Islamists?

If Jew-hatred is part of a "cycle of violence" then anti-Semitism must be partially Jews' fault.
This indicates that the official American position is no longer one of pride and leadership, but one of apologetics and beseeching to be loved by our enemies, who hate us because we just aren't working hard enough at reconciliation.

This is outrageous and scandalous, and in a sane world Power should be forced to resign by the end of the day. No one that says anything this sickening should represent the United States to the world.

FRONTPAGE MAGAZINE

THE REAL UNLEARNED LESSONS
OF DANIEL PEARL'S MURDER

January 24, 2012 by

The killing of Pearl concentrated much of what Andrew McCarthy calls the “willful blindness” of many in the West to the Islamic roots of the perpetrators’ violence. At the time, most of the media mainly decried Pearl’s death because he was a reporter. Worse yet were the comments that scolded the terrorists for not understanding that American journalists are neutral observers whose impartiality could help them get their story out.

The professional corruption of the mainstream-media was revealed in a New York Times statement, with its claims that journalists are objective (mostly false) and have no loyalties to their own country and people (mostly true), and that the murderers had a legitimate “cause” and “grievances” (moral idiocy and cowardice).

Most commentary also ignored the Koranic-inspired anti-Semitism of the words Pearl was forced to say in the execution video: “My name is Daniel Pearl. I am a Jewish American from Encino, California U.S.A. I come from, uh, on my father’s side the family is Zionist. My father’s Jewish, my mother’s Jewish, I’m Jewish. My family follows Judaism. We’ve made numerous family visits to Israel. Back in the town of Bnei Brak there is a street named after my great grandfather Chaim Pearl who is one of the founders of the town.”

The claim that Pearl was a C.I.A. agent was obviously a pretext; his real offense was being a Jew, a race the Koran calls “laden with Allah’s anger,” destined to suffer forever “abasement and poverty” and eventually to be transformed into “apes and swine.” In emphasizing Pearl’s Jewish ancestry and Zionist connections, the terrorists were conforming to the genocidal ambitions of many Muslims, from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has vowed to “wipe Israel from the map,” to the Muslim Brother affiliate Hamas, whose charter quotes the hadith proclaiming, “The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say ‘O Muslims, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’” As for the beheading, that too has its justification in Koran 8.12: “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads.”

Then and now, this religiously inspired, rank anti-Semitism is rationalized as a response to Israel’s so-called “occupation” of Muslim lands and oppression of the Palestinians. In 2010, General David Petraeus testified to Congress that the Israeli-Arab conflict “foments anti-American sentiment, due to a perception of U.S. favoritism for Israel.” Rather than Islamic ideology, Petraeus asserted that “Arab anger over the Palestinian question” accounts for terrorism: “al-Qaeda and other militant groups exploit that anger to mobilize support.”

But Petraeus was simply repeating received wisdom, examples of which are legion, ranging from historian Tony Judt’s claim that European Muslim immigrant anti-Semitic attacks are “a direct outcome of the festering crisis in the Middle East,” to French foreign minister Hubert Védrine’s assertion that immigrant violence and crime arise from “compassion for the Palestinians” on the part of Muslims, who “get agitated when they see what is happening.”

This trope of  “resistance” to unjust “oppression” continues to rationalize brutal murders such as Daniel Pearl’s, leading to what his father, Judah Pearl, called the “normalization of evil.”

Thus those who, like the New York Times, believe that Islamic terrorists have legitimate “grievances” consider terrorist murder and suicide bombing attacks as an unfortunate but understandable tactic given the disproportion of military power between them and their oppressors.

As Judah Pearl pointed out in 2009, this mentality was on display in Jimmy Carter’s despicable libel Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid: “It is imperative,” Carter wrote, “that the general Arab community and all significant Palestinian groups make it clear that they will end the suicide bombings and other acts of terrorism when international laws and the ultimate goals of the Road-map for Peace are accepted by Israel.” In Carter’s calculus, terrorism isn’t inherently evil, but rather a legitimate tactic of the weak. This rationalizing of terrorism finds its most repugnant expression in the “cycle of violence” formula, which ignores moral responsibility and blurs the distinction between the violence of terrorism and that used to prevent it.

Bill Moyers indulged this evasion on PBS when he elevated the genocidal Hamas to a “resistance” movement and opined that “each [side] greases the cycle of violence, as one man’s terrorism becomes another’s resistance to oppression.”

But Carter’s and Moyer’s excusing of terrorist violence has long been codified in the United Nations, where in 1974 Resolutions 3236 and 3237 recognized the terrorist Palestinian Organization as the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people; and in the Geneva Convention’s Protocol I, which extended legal combatant status and POW protection to virtually anyone fighting in a conflict, including terrorists.

Ten years after the murder of Daniel Pearl, too many people in government and the media still deny the roots of jihadism in traditional Islamic doctrine, still practice journalism rife with political and ideological bias, still refuse to acknowledge the genocidal anti-Semitism of many Muslims, still indulge a specious moral equivalence that rationalizes terrorist violence as “resistance,” and still look to an international legal community that has repeatedly exposed its ideological corruption. And these unlearned lessons still hamstring our response to jihadist terror.

TOP TEN MOST OUTRAGEOUS DECISIONS BY THE UNITED NATIONS IN 2013

By The Commentator.com

The widely respected and highly courageous group UN WATCH has welcomed the New Year with a short but telling list of 10 worst decisions by the UN in 2013.  If it wasn't so shocking, it'd be funny.  Watchdog group UN WATCH lists the 10 worst decisions by the U.N. in 2013. Most are against Israel and in favour of terrorists or brutal dictatorships

1. The UN Human Rights Council elected Hezbollah supporter Jean Ziegler, founder and recipient of the Muammar Qaddafi Human Rights Prize, as a top advisor.

2. The UN General Assembly adopted 21 condemnatory resolutions against Israel, compared to 4 on the rest of the world combined.

3. The same UN General Assembly elected China, Cuba, Russia, and Saudi Arabia to the UN Human Rights Council. The dictatorships will take their new seats on January 1, 2014.

4. UN Human Rights Council expert Richard Falk blamed the Boston Marathon terror bombings on "the American global domination project" and "Tel Aviv." Council members praised Falk and the president defended him.

5. The UN Special Committee on Decolonization, charged with upholding fundamental human rights and opposing the subjugation of peoples, elected the murderous Syrian regime to a senior post.

6. The UN Conference on Disarmament in May 2013 made Iran its president.

7. The UN Economic and Social Council, which oversees the UN women's rights commission, elected genocidal Sudan as its vice-president.

8. The UN Human Rights Council elected slave-holding Mauritania to be its vice-president.

9. The UN chose Zimbabwe, a regime that systematically violates human rights, to host its world tourism summit.

10. UNESCO, which condemned no other country but Israel, and which was silent as Hamas bulldozed a world heritage site to make a terrorist training camp, allowed Syria to sit as a judge on UNESCO's human rights committee.

UN Watch has not asked us to do this but we do recommend reading their site on a regular basis and supporting them financially so they can keep up their invaluable work.

Don't miss:  The moment when a United Nations interpreter inadvertently spoke on an open microphone about the unfairness of the UN selectively targeting Israel for criticism, while ignoring horrors going on elsewhere:

A UN interpreter was caught on a hot mic expressing her incredulity at 9 anti-Israel resolutions offered at the UN General Assembly while none for the rest of the world, The Times of Israel reports:

Under the mistaken impression that she was speaking only to a colleague, the interpreter uttered the following words into the headphones of every UN delegate, and before a live webcast audience worldwide:

Isn’t it a little weird? There are nine or ten resolutions against Israel. And I know there’s a problem with the Palestinians. But there’s other bad shit going on and they’re spending so much time on this.”

Laughter erupted among the delegates. “The interpreter apologizes,” said the unfortunate truth-teller, moments later. I sincerely hope she won’t get fired.  Because the one who should really apologize today is the UN. Founded on noble ideals, the world body is turning the dream of liberal internationalists into a nightmare.  For by the end of its annual session next month, the General Assembly will have adopted a total of 22 resolutions condemning Israel — and only four on the rest of the world combined. The hypocrisy, selectivity, and politicization are staggering.
