An adorable video shows the moment four dolphins were completely mesmerized by two squirrels at Sea World. A Sea World employee was on break and taking a walk through the park when she passed by the dolphin nursery. 'They are normally very playful and interactive and a couple came by to say hello,' the park worker said. But in the sweet video, the two squirrels came over and appeared to be looking for food outside of the dolphin's nursery. The dolphins quickly became amazed at the two squirrels and followed their every move.

Animals sense upcoming catastrophes and this very intelligent hawk, perhaps with some physical injury, thought the best way to hunker  down during Hurricane Harvey was in a cozy place, such as William Brusso's taxi cab, and then his home.  Brusso is an animal lover, so this bird may have sensed he was the kind of person to ask for help.

William Bruso was buying food before Hurricane Harvey hit Houston on Friday

He returned to his taxi cab and a hawk jumped into the passenger seat

Bruso said the bird looked scared with its wings tucked close to its side

The man filmed the strange interaction and posted the video to Facebook

Bruso named the animal Harvey the Hurricane Hawk and kept it at his home

The Houston man handed the bird over to Texas Wildlife Rescue Center Saturday

A man filmed the moment a hawk wouldn't budge from his taxi cab as Hurricane Harvey barreled towards Texas.  As thousands evacuated the Houston area ahead of the Category 4 hurricane and others hunkered down, one hawk sought refuge in a car in Houston on Friday.

In my opinion felines are the most perfect creatures in the world.  What's impressive is not just their physical beauty but that of their soul as well.  Whoever has had the privilege of sharing his life with a pet cat also knows about cats' high intelligence, gentleness, and their immense capacity for love.  

• This is the heartwarming moment two rescued lions went crazy when they came face to face with the woman who helped raise them at a cat rescue centre in Slovakia.
• Malkia and Adelle were rejected by their mother when they were cubs.

A few days ago I posted the case of the single dad lion who devotedly raised his orphaned cub after mom had died.  Here is another moving story showing the nurturing feelings of wild felines, which in many documented cases extend to babies of other species.

Mr Mitchley said he doesn't know what became of the calf's mother or how the big cat got hold of it   But the teacher did witness the lion carrying the baby like a cub and attempting to lick its fur clean

Eventually the lion carried the cub out of sight, so Mr Mitchley says he doesn't know if the animal survived

Couple's wedding photos are ruined by a pair of photobombing cows in Canada who look like they've already started their honeymoon 

Jenessa and Brad McKillen had their wedding photo-shoot photobombed by two cows in the act of making love behind them on a farm in Ontario, Canada. The couple decided to partake in a shoot at the bride's family farm when during the session, photographer Rebecca Sprau suggested that the pair pose in front of the cows, adding a hint of variety to the shoot. As Rebecca started to shoot the couple, though, she burst out laughing as she witnessed the frisky cows' sudden antics.

Family slammed for 'reckless behaviour' after sea lion drags girl into water in Richmond, B.C.

Port officials are lambasting the family of a young girl for "reckless behaviour" after she was dragged into the water by a sea lion off a dock at Steveston in Richmond, B.C. 

 

Robert Kiesman, chair of the Steveston Harbour Authority, said there are several signs posted at the popular tourist destination warning people not to feed the sea mammals that frequent the area. 

 

"You wouldn't go up to a grizzly bear in the bush and hand him a ham sandwich, so you shouldn't be handing a thousand-pound wild mammal in the water slices of bread," Kiesman said. 

 

"And you certainly shouldn't be letting your little girl sit on the edge of the dock with her dress hanging down after the sea lion has already snapped at her once. Just totally reckless behaviour."

A surprising moment of affectionate friendship in the life of a ruthless predator.  Polar bears have a reputation as one the fiercest predator species in the Arctic, but that didn’t stop this bear from sharing a touching moment with a dog in northern Manitoba on Saturday.

David De Meulles, a tour guide for North Star Tours in Churchill, Man., uploaded a short video of the rare encounter to YouTube on Wednesday. The incredible clip shows a large polar bear lift its huge paw over a dog calmly lying down on some rocks near the icy water.

For a tiny animal, he clearly has a brave heart. The otter was pictured biting the croc's tail at the Jim Corbett National park in India before chasing him in circles. Despite the angry reptile's efforts to gobble him up, the otter proved elusive. Witness Raminder Singh said the otter 'certainly knew what he was doing'.

• Never underestimate your sweet kitten.  She has a tiger inside. 
• The dogs said the scratches were no too bad.  It was the humiliation they couldn't stand. 

• 

  BABY -  Looks so sweet and innocent
  An amazing bodyguard.

  Maybe they'll need life-long psychological therapy after their traumatic ordeal.     
• "The dogs were walking by, completely minding their own business," Kyla Grover, owner of a couple of the dogs, said.
• "The cat just goes at all of the dogs, not backing down."
• She said the dogs were all on leashes and just barked as this kitty went ape. 
• Kyla Grover said that the cat started swiping at the dogs when it caught onto Bandida's face, biting and scratching Grover in the process.
• The cat's name is Baby.  Her owner, Del Thompson, said that Baby was just protecting his wife, who was gardening when the dogs were walking by. 
• "She's an older cat. She sleeps most of the time, so she doesn't have any reaction to anything really, except when dogs come near my wife. Then she acts like a guard dog," Thompson said.
• He said "it could've been a lot worse" and said the cat has attacked other dogs before.
• Thompson will pay for the veterinary costs for the injured and humiliated pitbulls.
• The dog owner is calling for a Dangerous Cat Bylaw.

Thompson's wife, Betty Jean, was outside gardening when the attack took place.  She says she was shocked to see so many dogs. 

“You could see how a little cat would think someone was going to attack her when you see seven dogs in front of our house,” she says.

The 78-year-old says one of the dogs — Bandida — came onto the boulevard near their property line and she was worried the dogs would try to chase Baby.

 

“I yelled out, get those dogs out of here I have a cat!” Thompson says. “She pulled the dog back and it reared up and kinda looked like a horse.”

 

That’s when Baby attacked.  By the time Betty Jean was able to get up, she says Bandida was fighting back. 

 

“The dog had the cat in her mouth, by the back of the throat, and it looked like our cat was a rag doll,” she says. “It looked like our cat was dead and I thought the dogs were going to rip it apart.”

 

Fearing the worst, Betty Jean says she tried to intervene by putting her gardening mat in front of the dog’s eyes to break up the fight.  She’s upset the dogs owners’ said she didn’t help.

 

In the end, Kyla Grover separated the animals and she and Bandida were the only ones hurt.  The Thompsons, who paid the vet bill, admit Baby’s protective but say in 16 years there have only been one or two incidents.  “I have seen her just nip a little bit at a dog’s rear foot,” Betty Jean says. “But nothing ever like this.” 

 

They say Baby sleeps most of the time, and that’s all she did when our cameras were there to see her.  “Like most cats she doesn’t do a lot exciting, really.”  Except for this strange story, which will have pit bulls staying away from her kitty corner.  Baby is 16 years old and has trouble walking due to arthritis.

Humpback whales, like the one in the foreground, will charge killer whales that are attacking other marine mammals.
 

At first it seemed like the usual, deviously clever attack. Several killer whales were trying to catch a Weddell seal that had taken refuge atop a drifting patch of Antarctic ice. The orcas swam alongside each other, creating a wave that knocked the hapless pinniped into the water. Death seemed certain.

Then something amazing happened: A pair of humpback whales turned up. As the panicked seal swam toward them, a lucky wave tossed it onto the chest of the closer, upturned whale.
 

The whale arched its chest out of the water, which kept the seal away from the charging killer whales. And when the seal started to fall off, the whale carefully pushed it back onto its chest with a flipper. Soon after that, the seal scrambled to safety on another ice floe.

The wounded elephant was saved after pleading humans for help: Animal approached safari lodge after it was shot by poachers

Bull elephant surprised guests after approaching a Zimbabwe safari lodge 

Staff recognised that he was suffering from a limp and then called for a vet

The elephant waited patiently for the vet to arrive.

Experts found that he had been shot and had a deep wound in his shoulder

While treating that wound they also found bullet holes in one of its ears from a previous attack

Industrial-scale poaching is taking place all over Africa, including elephant sanctuaries.

The poachers are after ivory, which is eventually sold to the Chinese market

Beautiful animals are murdered to make ivory trinkets for China and other Asian countries.

At this rate of poaching, wild African elephants will be EXTINCT IN 10 YEARS

In the meantime World Wildlife Fund reported that elephants in Selous National Park in Tanzania could disappear in less than SIX YEARS

The Tanzanian government also allows URANIUM mining and oil and gas extraction in the area, leading to animals' drinking water contamination.

Tanzanian Selous Park had 110,000 elephants only 40 years ago.  Only 15,000 are left today, and at least 2,500 are murdered by poachers each year.

That's the scale of the massacre of elephants that is occurring all over African elephant wildlife parks - and neither governments nor the public can claim they did not know about it

This is the moment wounded Ben, the elephant, pleaded with humans for help after it was shot by poachers.
