Founder of EMPact America tells Arutz Sheva why he believes the threat to American security from Iran could be closer than you think.

A group of academics and American politicians came together at week's end in Washington D.C., to discuss what they say is the greatest threat to US security: a nuclear Iran capable of obtaining an EMP, or Electromagnetic Pulse weapon.

 

Henry Schwartz, a prominent New York-based entrepreneur and founder of EMPact America, which organized the conference, spoke exclusively to Arutz Sheva and shared his thoughts on his group's effort to lobby for greater awareness of the threat of an EMP attack against the USA.

 

Schwartz said that the despite having served in the military, the event - which was the culmination of five years of hard work and drew in such influential figures as the former Director of the CIA James Woolsey and Republican Senator and rising GOP star Ted Cruz - had made him feel that "for the first time in 80 years ...I am serving my country."  He explained that his efforts had required patience, and would need further resolve in order to build a "critical mass" of awareness - and he warned that time was of the essence.

MALWARE IN YAHOO ADS MAY HAVE INFECTED MILLIONS OF VISITORS

 

According to online security firm Fox IT based in the Netherlands, users who clicked on ads from the site were redirected to sites that exploited vulnerabilities in Java and installed a host of different malware.  The malware may have begun spreading from December 30.

 

Yahoo says it is monitoring the problem.  'We recently identified an ad designed to spread malware to some of our users. We immediately removed it and will continue to monitor and block any ads being used for this activity', they said.

US IN GREATEST DANGER SINCE 1930 SAYS SENIOR MILITARY ANALYST

  

Senior military analyst Lt. Gen. Thomas G. McInerney spoke to Arutz Sheva on Tuesday, warning that rising Russian and Iranian influence, coupled with America's waning Middle East presence, has put the US in the most dangerous situation it has been in since the 1930s just prior to World War II.

 

McInerney addressed the global security situation following the "EMPact" conference in Washington DC, in which analysts warned that the US is unprepared for an Iranian "Electromagnetic Pulse" attack.

 

The General urged the world to wake up to the Iranian nuclear threat which he fears may be allowed a free hand following deals in the ongoing Geneva conference.

 

Aside from the Iranian danger, McInerney noted that spreading Russian influence poses a serious threat.

 

In particular McInerney highlighted the danger of US President Barack Obama's handling of longtime US ally Egypt, which has recently turned to Russia.

 

Just on Wednesday reports revealed that Egypt signed a $4 billion arms deal with Russia designed to let Egypt attain parity with the IDF.

 

 Excerpts of General McInerney's statements:

 

We're giving a key ally away to the Russians--Egypt. And Egypt is crucial to our success in the Middle East because of its relationship to the (Israeli) peace treaty, number two--the Suez canal, our access, number three--overflight.

 

For the first time an Arab nation - Egypt - is openly attacking the Muslim Brotherhood, the radical Islamists. And we should be supporting General (Abdel) Al-Sisi, we are not. He's extremely important.

 

You've seen what's happened in Syria. We have now legitimized (President Bashar) Assad, we've legitimized the Soviet hegemony in the region, as well as the Iranian hegemony.

 

So we have a very dangerous situation in the world, and fundamentally in two days I believe this administration will acquiesce and pull off the sanctions against the Iranians.

 

We should double the sanctions, that's the only thing that's working. So that's why I believe it is the most dangerous position the United States has seen since the 30s.

 

Finally, we are unilaterally disarming the US military, it is very dangerous what's going on. And all of this is coming together at a very critical time in our history.

DHS ADVISOR ADMITS ISLAMIST TIES

A prominent Muslim advisor at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has close ties to a convicted Hamas fundraiser and other radical Islamist causes, including a non profit that proclaims sharia is the only legitimate law according to Islam.

 

This Homeland Security advisor, Mohamed Elibiary, has regular access to classified information and is a prime mover behind two of the Obama administration’s most dangerous policies; normalizing relations with domestic and foreign Islamist groups (including the Muslim Brotherhood) and arduous enforcement restrictions of laws related to material support for terrorism.

 

While this may seem incomprehensible to many, it’s all documented in a disturbing report published this week by the Center for Security Policy, a Washington D.C. think tank dedicated to promoting national security.

 

The 33-page document is actually based on a lengthy, five-part interview with Elibiary, an influential member of Homeland Security Advisory Council.

 

Elibiary admits he’s a longtime friend of a self-described Islamist (Shukri Abu Baker) convicted in 2008 of financing the terrorist organization Hamas through his U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity, the Holy Land Foundation.

 

Elibiary reveals that he donated to the Holy Land Foundation monthly until it was shut down by the U.S. government and he defends Baker, depicting his prosecution as a case of political persecution.

 

He also admits knowing the Muslim Brotherhood “social network” and supports a partnership with Islamists, particularly the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S. and abroad.

 

“I simply find it counterproductive to American national security interests to treat the Muslim Brotherhood like the mafia, Nazi party, fascists, communists or any other entity we politically ostracize,” Elibiary says.

 

He adds that Muslim Brotherhood members “naturally exist everywhere at this point, but that’s not a problem in and of itself because there have been MB members inside the US abiding by the law for a very long time.”

 

The document includes a number of alarming details of Elibiary’s close relationship with a wide array of U.S. Islamist groups, including the radical Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America which declares that the only legitimate law according to Islam is Sharia.

 

The group also urges American Muslims to nurture hostility towards U.S. law, according to Arabic documents discovered and translated into English by the Center for Security Policy.

DHS EMPLOYEE WHO CALLED FOR MASS MURDER OF WHITES STILL ON PAYROLL

The black-nationalist Department of Homeland Security employee who was placed on leave almost four months ago for running a website that espouses the mass murder of whites has still not been fired, an agency spokesperson told National Journal.

 

The Southern Poverty Law Center first exposed Ayo Kimathi in August, prompting a small media firestorm that led DHS to place the procurement officer on administrative leave with pay pending review.

 

DHS deputy press secretary Gillian Christensen confirmed that his status has not changed and that he is still on leave pending review.

 

Kimathi, using the online nom de guerre "the Irritated Genie," called for "ethnic cleansing" of "black-skinned Uncle Tom race traitors" on his website, which envisioned a massive race war on the horizon.

 

"In order for Black people to survive the 21st century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites—more than our Christian hearts can possibly count," he wrote.

 

In other postings, he warned that whites and their enablers like President Obama are trying to "homosexualize" black men in order to make them weaker, and suggested that a woman's primary role in life should be to "keep a strong Black man happy."

 

He also seemed to hold anti-Semitic views, claiming in a Facebook post that his website was under attack from a conspiracy of "zionist smallhats, the Uncle Tom koons," and, naturally, "the haters."

 

Kimathi, who has been at DHS since 2009, works for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and made $115,731 in 2012.

 

Civil service laws make it difficult for the federal government to fire employees.

 

Government Executive's Charles Clark reported in early September that DHS received complaints about Kimathi as long as two years ago.

 

A former supervisor of Kimathi's told the SPLC that "everybody in the office is afraid of him," and worried that he would "come in with a gun someday and go postal."

 

In September, a contractor at the Washington Navy Yard killed 12 people and injured eight others in a shooting rampage that also left him dead

 

Homeland Security has condemned Kimathi's political views and said his employment is under review, but as of Monday afternoon, he remains employed.

 

That's not acceptable, says Josh Glasstetter of the SPLC, which researches hate groups of all stripes. "DHS should be tracking Kimathi, not employing him," he told National Journal.

 

"This isn't a mundane human resources matter or a tricky First Amendment question. DHS should have investigated and fired Kimathi months, or even years, ago," Glasstetter added.

 

Kimathi has claimed his website was merely intended for entertainment. "The Irritated Genie of Soufeese" replied to a request for comment sent to his website saying "we will not be making any statements on this unfortunate situation."

POLICE RADIOS FAILED DURING NAVY YARD MASSACRE

Public safety officers on military bases and other federal facilities have long complained about their radios, saying they cannot use them to communicate with  each other during emergencies.   They had to use cellphones.

 

Radios for federal firefighters and police officers failed during Monday’s mass shooting at Washington’s Navy Yard, according to union representatives for first responders.

 

Union officials said police and firefighters resorted to using their cellphones and radios from D.C.’s emergency responders to communicate with each other during the attack.

 

Anthony Meely, chairman of the Fraternal Order of Police Naval District Washington (NDW) Labor Committee, said police officers who were first on the scene at the Navy Yard had trouble communicating with others in the force via their radios.Initially, officers found that their radios were working.

 

But as they ventured deeper into the building where the shooting took place, their equipment stopped functioning.

 

After the first shootout with the gunman, one officer found his radio’s battery was dead, while another officer could not receive a signal from his radio and was unable to call for help.

 

That forced them to use an officer’s cellphone to call others outside the building, according to Meely.

 

Meely, who was on the scene at Navy Yard and took part in the search for a potential second shooter, said problems with their radios have been “a known issue” on the base with radio batteries not being able to hold charge and being unable to receive signals inside buildings.

The union representative said he thought it was “sad” that police officers had to use a cellphone to call for help.
