INDIAN POINT NUCLEAR POWER PLANT HAS 65,000 % SPIKE IN RADIOACTIVE LEAK INTO GROUNDWATER USED FOR DRINKING BY MILLIONS OF NEW YORK STATE RESIDENTS

  • The threat of nuclear power plants has been mostly hidden from us by a very effective nuclear industry propaganda machine.
  • They have told us that they are "clean energy," without mentioning that to this day there is no safe way to store or dispose of nuclear waste, which keeps accumulating in dangerous amounts.
  • They don't tell us that the life of a nuclear power plant is relatively short (just a few decades), and that the cost of decommissioning them is extremely high, and the process definitely not "clean".
  • And they don't tell us of the many close calls that NPPs suffer each year, threatening the lives of millions of people.
  • A natural disaster or a terror attack, such an EMP event (caused by a giant solar flare or a nuclear explosion in the atmosphere) would fry the electric grid, unleashing the meltdown of nuclear power plants which need electricity to run.

Who needs terrorists, when our worst enemy is our own ineptitude.

An uncontrollable flow from the Indian Point nuclear power plant - 25 miles from New York City - continues to leak into groundwater, which leads to the Hudson River, the drinking water source for millions of people in the area.

RT reports - Health and environment commissioners were ordered by Governor Andrew Cuomo to begin an investigation into the leak of “radioactive tritium-contaminated water” at the Indian Point nuclear power plant after the operator, Entergy Nuclear Operations, raised the alarm.

One of the three wells in question, according to Cuomo’s statement, had “radioactivity increasing nearly 65,000 percent,” while in total the company reported “alarming levels of radioactivity” at three monitoring wells.

THE MYSTERIOUS SLIME TAKING OVER RIVERS ALL OVER THE WORLD - It is a type of algae also known as DIDYMO and GREEN SNOT - It spreads through human activity in rivers and streams

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It began with a few small strange patches of slime, clinging to the rocks of the Heber River in Canada.
Within a year, the patches had become thick, blooming mats. Within a few years the mats had grown into a giant brownish-yellow snot.
And within a few decades this snot had spread around the world, clogging up rivers as far away as South America, Europe and Australasia.
This snot, which is still flourishing today, is caused by a microscopic alga, a diatom that goes by its scientific name Didymosphenia geminata.
It has become so notorious it has its own moniker, Didymo. People have been blamed for the sudden, global explosion of this tiny organism, unwittingly carrying the algae from river to river on fishing gear, boats and kayaks.
The huge snots it forms have wreaked havoc in waterways, forcing governments and environmental organisations to initiate huge and costly clean-up operations.
A strange story
But underlying the snots’ strange appearance is an even stranger story. About Didymo itself, about what it is, and how it behaves.
Scientists are now discovering that the sudden appearance of Didymo may not have been so sudden after all.
Its blooms aren’t really blooms – instead they are more of an elixir-induced metamorphosis. And Didymo seems to ignore the usual rules followed by invasive species.
It even appears likely that this little diatom may not even be a significant problem itself; instead the brownish-yellow snot it forms may be a symptom of greater changes underway in freshwater systems around the world.
AERIAL PHOTO OF RED TIDE IN CHINA
These astonishing aerial photographs show red tides on coastal waters along a beach in China.
Worry: Usually occuring in late summer or early autumn, the tide can produce harmful chemicals and cause respiratory problems
Visitors to Dameisha beach in Shenzhen have been warned by officials not to swim in the area to avoid any potential allergic reactions.
After an outbreak in 2004, experts said that the main cause of red tides was the release of large amounts of untreated sewage into the sea.  They also claimed overfishing had led to a sharp fall of shallow-water fish and shrimp stocks that were able to feed on algae in the area.
The tide, with the scientific name of Karenia brevis, is caused by microscopic algae blooms that explode in numbers in the right conditions.  Usually a phenomenon that occurs in late summer or early autumn, the tide can produce harmful chemicals and cause respiratory problems.
This is the second case of red tides on the eastern Shenzhen coast since June - and it is feared local fish could die from oxygen deprivation.
Another common red tide is found most summers along Florida’s Gulf Coast - and the biggest one since 2005 was observed this August.
3 BILLION GALLONS OF FRACKING WASTE WATER WERE PUMPED INTO CLEAN CALIFORNIA AQUIFERS - "Errors were made" state admits
 by Tyler Durden, Zero Hedge
State regulators favoring oil companies for reasons only they know.
Oil companies blaming the error on a "paperwork issue"
Dear California readers: if you drank tapwater this morning (or at any point in the past few weeks/months), you may be in luck as you no longer need to buy oil to lubricate your engine: just use your blood, and think of the cost-savings. That's the good news.
Also, the bad news, because as the California’s Department of Conservation’s Chief Deputy Director, Jason Marshall, told NBC Bay Area, California state officials allowed oil and gas companies to pump up to 3 billion gallons (call it 70 million barrels) of oil fracking-contaminated waste water into formerly clean aquifiers - aquifiers which at least on paper are supposed to be off-limits to that kind of activity, and are protected by the government's EPA - an agency which, it appears, was richly compensated by the same oil and gas companies to look elsewhere.
And the scariest words of admission one can ever hear from a government apparatchik: "In multiple different places of the permitting process an error could have been made."
COCAINE USE IN BRITAIN SO WIDESPREAD - IT IS FOUND IN RECYCLED DRINKING WATER
  • Traces of cocaine can be found in our drinking water, tests have shown
  • Inspections of tap water discovered metabolised form of the illegal drug
  • Researchers said the levels were so low they posed no danger to health
  • But they demonstrate how widespread the use of cocaine has become
  • Nearly 700,000 people aged 16 to 59 estimated to take drug every year
