• An inconvenient truth in Middle East politics is that only strong regimes - no matter how ruthless - can keep the masses of Shiite and Sunni factions from slaughtering each other and under relative control.  
• The best we can hope for in that part of the world is a secular, authoritarian regime.  The more religious their rulers are, the greater their inclination to prepare for all out war.  Iran is one of the best examples of religious fanaticism.   
• Unfortunately the Obama administration decided to topple several secular tyrants in order to install religious fanatics, particularly from the Muslim Brotherhood.  This Arab Spring regime-change unleashed civil wars and all kinds of extreme abuses of human rights.  Hundreds of thousands have died and the carnage continues, spilling over into Europe and the USA. 
• Syria's Assad is the last surviving secular tyrant, thanks to help from Russia and Iran.  Political forces in the USA continue to push for his removal, knowing full well that the country would fall into chaos and be taken over by much worse extremists - after the "rebel" factions fight each other for supremacy.  And let's not forget that Iran and Russia are already there!
• A parallel situation of American self-delusion exists with the decades-old obsession to create a Palestinian State.  We have all seen the gruesome violence and widespread corruption among Palestinians.  How can anyone even suggest that they are ready for statehood and for living side by side and in peace with Israel, as the fraudulent land-for-peace slogan says?
• The truly biggest problems are now a nuclear Iran, and how Arab countries like Saudi Arabia will try to match that country's nuclear capabilities.  In a region plagued by anger management issues, Obama's facilitating Iran's nuclearization was a recipe for disaster.  SEE RELATED ARTICLE ON OBAMA AND SYRIA BELOW.

That question has puzzled many people, and it is by explaining the difference between the acronyms ISIL and ISIS that one can begin to understand what may be behind the US president's preference for ISIL.   

The president's own biography and consistent anti-Israel and pro-Muslim policies may give even further clues.  

Aside from putting intense pressure on Israel to sacrifice ancient Jewish land to satisfy Muslim demands, the US president has defied a Congressional law recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital.    

 

According to Obama's policy Americans born in Jerusalem are not allowed to list Israel as country of birth on their US passport, implying that Jews are "occupying" the city that has been the center of Judaism and Jewish history for thousands of years. 

 

Jerusalem is the very heart of Jewish history, dating back thousands of years.  Jerusalem and the Land of Israel were invaded and occupied by Muslims in the seventh century AD.  Israel liberated the Biblical part of Jerusalem from the Jordanians in 1967.   President Obama has consistently chosen to legitimize Muslim claims of ownership to Jerusalem and to much of Biblical Israeli land.   

 

President Obama has also officially endorsed the European Union's labeling and boycotting of imported Jewish goods from Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, the Biblical areas that Muslims are claiming for the creation of an Islamic state of Palestine.

 

Could his preference for the acronym ISIL over ISIS be because ISIL includes Israel among its targets for conquest?  Following is a summary of comment by blogger Carl of Israel Matzav: 

 

ISIS = Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. 

ISIL = Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.  

The geographical term LEVANT refers to a multi-nation region in the Middle East. It’s a land bridge between Turkey to the north and Egypt to the south.  It includes Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt's Sinai, and Israel.    

US government agencies, and especially president Obama, call it ISIL instead of ISIS. 
 

Obama could be sending a coded message to Muslims all over the Middle East that he personally does not recognize Israel as a sovereign nation, but as territory belonging to the Islamic State.

 

Obama's plan has been to drag his feet fighting ISIS to buy them time to make as many gains as they can.   The Islamic State has garnered millions of dollars, a vast cache of weapons, and has captured Syrian fighter jets and 12 commercial passenger planes.  

 

The ultimate goal, of course, has not changed and will never change. The ultimate goal is the destruction of Israel.

Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D - Brooklyn) promoted an anti-Iran parody ad campaign Friday, by riding a bus with #AyatollahThanksAmerica ads throughout New York.

 

Hikind made stops at the offices of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Representative Jerrold Nadler, both of whom recently declared support for the deal between the West and Iran, as part of satire tour “thanking” members of Congress and the American people.

 

The bus featured posters of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomenei with messages thanking members of Congress for their support of the Iran deal with the tagline “brought to you by #FriendsoftheAyatollah.”

New York Assemblyman Dov Hivkind is protesting the US surrender to Iran by riding the AYATOLLAHS THANK AMERICA BUS. 

“Today we stood outside of Gillibrand’s and Nadler’s offices to make our voices heard and urge them to reconsider their support of the Iran deal," Hikind said in a statement. "Our community is massively disappointed in their decision."

 

"With the recent AP report of one of the side deals reached between Iran and the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency, the latest news reads like a headline from the Onion," he continued. "So we decided that satire is the best way to demonstrate this point."

Babeu was leading the helicopter tour with Dr. Ben Carson, a GOP presidential candidate, after briefing Carson on everything happening at the border.

 

Among other things that Babeu showed Carson and Breitbart News on this helicopter tour were how this far inside the border on high ground there are scores of scout sites where cartel operatives serve as lookouts for smugglers bringing drugs, people and other contraband into the country.

KEY POINTS

• Historically speaking, Jews were one of the European founding nations, and have a much older presence in the continent than many other ethnic groups of Europe that today consider themselves indigenous.
• But no matter how many generations of Jews had lived in Europe, they have always been regarded as outsiders.
• European Jews gave their love, efforts, and even their lives for their countries, only to be paid with hate and murder, for just being Jews.
• Some Jews got sick and tired of it and opted for Zionism, a return to the Land of Israel.
• Other Jews continued to deceive themselves, and thought that America would be the place where they would finally be equal and free.
• The case of Senator Charles Schumer, accused of dual loyalties, and even treason for disagreeing with president Obama on the still partly secret Iran deal.
• The growing violent anti-Semitism in the US media and college campuses.
• Any American Jew with a minimum of lucidity and self-respect should realize that it's only a matter of time before his home country turns fully against him.
• And the only country that will be willing to take him and his children will be Israel
• It's also time for American Jewish progressives to start lending more support to Israeli policies that may be politically incorrect but necessary for the survival of the country. 

Inspired by the one hundredth anniversary of the start of World War I last year, I've been reading several books on that subject, and also on World War II, which was essentially its continuation.

 

One item that keeps reappearing throughout the first half of the 20th century in Europe is the Jewish obtuse insistence on believing that they were "Europeans" and French, or German, or whichever was the nationality of the country they happened to be living in.

 

Officially, yes, they had European nationalities.  But to the government and the populations there, they were still seen as outsiders.  No matter how many gains Jews made in civil rights and social status over the years, they were still regarded as outsiders with suspect loyalties.

The Obama administration has asked a judge Monday to “carefully consider” the size of the bond demanded from the Palestinian Authority (PA) for its role orchestrating years of terror attacks against Israelis and Jews.  

In this way it is directly interfering in a US court case.

In February, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) - the terror group behind the PA - was found liable to pay $218.5 million to victims of terror, a figure that was set to be tripled to $655.5 million according to the anti-terrorism laws under which the case was brought.

Legal rights group Shurat Hadin (Israel Law Center) helped represent the 11 families who charge the PA and PLO of inciting, supporting, planning and executing the seven terror attacks which killed American citizens between 2000 and 2004. 

 

In May, the PA admitted it cannot pay such a hefty fine, however - as it is struggling under billions of debt despite an ongoing stream of aid from Israel and other countries - and called the case "political extortion." 

 

Palestinian Authority has no money?

Now, US President Barack Obama is reportedly seeking to lower that fine - following a series of conflicts between officials from the State Department and the Justice Department over the issue, an official involved in the case told the New York Times Tuesday. 

 

In a document entitled “Statement of Interest of the United States of America," the Obama administration expressed concerns over the payments hurting the PA's basic government services.

Greenland is closer to Russia than the ICBM fields located in the continental U.S. Rumor has it that the Danish government had no idea that the U.S. was considering installing nuclear missiles on Greenland.

 

The base operated from 1959 to 1966 when shifting icecap made living there impossible. Today, it’s buried and crushed beneath the Arctic snows.

I've reading The Universe Within  -  The Deep History of the Human Body -  and its author Neil Shubin, who has done paleontological research in Greenland, makes a passing reference to a US government project that seems right out of a thriller. 

The plan, Shubin writes, was concocted by the Pentagon and consisted on carving silos within the ice for six hundred nuclear warheads.  Connecting these silos were to be tunnels that contained an entire underground city given the futuristic name Camp Century.

But the leader of the free world wants to reward them with ownership of the most sacred city for Judaism and Christianity.  WHY?

The US Supreme Court sides with Obama and discards law passed by Congress recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital

 

Nitzana Darshan-Leitner, head of lawfare NGO Shurat Hadin, says the US Supreme Court decision on Jerusalem 'truly damages every single Israeli.'

 

The US Supreme Court decision Monday not to register US citizens who were born in Jerusalem as having been born in Israel could have future ramifications for other matters involving Israel, according to Attorney Nitzana Darshan-Leitner, head of lawfare NGO Shurat Hadin.

 

"This question could come up in other matters, such as American financing for the Palestinian Authority, which currently stands at about 600 million dollars,” she opined. 

 

"Congress decided to limit the transfer of funds to the PA from the State Department, so that may only be transferred if there is certainty that they do not go toward terrorism.

 

"The State Department has been ignoring Congress, and when the matter reaches the courts, there will again be a debate over who decides foreign policy, the legislators or the State Department.”

 

As for the court's decision itself, Darshan-Leitner said that it truly damages every single Israeli person:   “This is a disappointment. While it is true that this is a decision that relates to the internal regime in the US, and which delimits the boundaries of the executive branch's discretion, and who decides foreign policy, one cannot ignore the actual decision, which de facto does not recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel

 

"This is a real kick in the face of every Israeli citizen, that such a great friend of Israel's does not recognize its rights.”

 

Arutz Sheva notes that all three Jewish justices - Stephen G. Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Ellen Kagan - voted in favor of the decision.
