Staring into Hell: Intrepid adventurer captures incredible images of the world's most active lava lakes using drones and a suit that can withstand 3,000F heat  
  • Stunning images were taken by filmmaker Sam Cossman and his team in the Pacific island republic of Vanuatu
  • Group used high tech equipment such as drones and virtual reality cameras to learn more about the lava lakes
  • Cossman wore a biometric wearable sensors and a special high-tech heat-proof suit as he abseiled towards lava
  • Aim of the project was to get understand how microbial life could exist and colonise the extreme environment
  • This incredible photos were taken by filmmaker Sam Cossman and his team and shows his harrowing journey into the Marum crater, which is one of only seven lava lakes on the planet, located on the remote island of Ambrym, in the Republic of Vanuatu.
