Survivors compared the explosions to an earthquake and said some people were injured by shattered glass falling from the mosque's large hanging chandeliersA video recording of a deadly terrorist attack at a Shiite mosque in Yemen on Friday revealed that worshipers were chanting a slew of hateful slogans just as a suicide bomber detonated himself, killing scores of people.

The bombing, one of three committed in a pair of mosques, was carried out by the Islamic State during weekly prayers. At least 142 people were killed and 351 were wounded in the attacks, carried out in the Shiite rebel-controlled capital city of Sana’a.

The amateur video, hosted and translated by the Arabic media watchdog MEMRI, shows a preacher conducting a sermon at the Houthi al-Hashoosh Mosque, leading the crowd in an impassioned cry against Israel, the United States and Jews.

“Our belief in Allah will increase after today. We will triumph over their deceit and their arrogance. Allah is with us,” the preacher said.

“Death to America. Death to Israel. Curse upon the Jews. Victory to Islam. Allahu Akbar,” the worshipers recited en masse.

Then a terrorist roaming among the mosque’s patrons detonated himself, causing a scene of mass panic.

WHITE HOUSE CONTINUES TO RESHAPE THE MIDDLE EAST - HOUTHI YEMEN COUP FAVORS IRAN - A move helped by US intelligence and US-Iranian support

Those who dismissed the US president as just a former "community organizer" have vastly underestimated his capacity for changing the geopolitical landscape in the Middle East, and for making irreversible changes to the demographics, the economy, and other important aspects of the United States.

While Bush started wars, Obama has been quietly helping to change, to an alarming degree, the Middle East balance of power.  Nothing will be the same when he leaves office.

Iran will most likely attain its nuclear power status, which will unleash a nuclear arms race in the region and threaten not only Israel but the United States as well.

So far only Egypt has been able to undo some of the damage unleashed by the White-House-supported Arab Spring - a series of popular revolts that ended up empowering extreme Islamists.

Israel is now under attack by a horde of former White House staffers who descended on Israel prior to national elections in order to influence and manipulate the country into voting for pro-Arab leftist parties.

The following is an article about the latest chapter in this series of Middle East revolutions that  bear the fingerprints of the current US administration.

Houthi Yemen coup moves Iran’s Middle East hegemonic ambitions forward - upheld by Washington

The strings of the pro-Iranian Houthi rebels’ coup which toppled the Yemeni government in Sanaa were pulled from Tehran and Washington.

US intelligence and shared US-Iranian support helped the Houthis reach their goal, which is confined for now to parts of central Yemen and all of the North.

Friday, Feb. 6, the rebels dissolved parliament and seized power in the country of 24 million. They propose to rule by a revolutionary council. President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi and his cabinet who were forced to resign last month are under house arrest.

Debkafile’s Saudi intelligence sources reveal that the dominant figure of the uprising was none other than Ali Abdullah Saleh, president of Yemen from 1990 until he was ousted in 2012.

A member of the Zaydi branch of Shiite Islam like the Houthis, he led them to power with the same enthusiasm with which he fought their insurgency during his years in power.

By rallying his supporters in the army, intelligence and security services, he enabled the rebels to take over these departments of government and overpower the Hadi regime with only minimal resistance.

They were also able to commandeer $400 million worth of modern American munitions.

The Houthis secretly call themselves “Ansar Allah” and have adopted the “Death to America, Death to Israel” slogans routinely heard in government-sponsored parades and demonstrations on the streets and squares of revolutionary Tehran.

THE WHITE HOUSE USES ISIS TO DEFLECT ATTENTION AWAY FROM IRAN whose nuclear program, aided by US appeasement policies, is a much greater threat - In the meantime IRAN CONTINUES TO GAIN GROUND, now in Yemen

The White House is manipulating media attention away from its policies that support Iran's nuclear weapons development.

A few voices have raised the alarm that the White House sudden interest in ISIS (or IS) is nothing but a means to distract attention away from its policies that favor Iran's nuclear program.

The US government quietly helps Iran through easing of sanctions, and a protracted series of "talks" leading nowhere, that give Iran more time to reach the point of no-return towards its nuclear goal.

In the big picture, Iran is immeasurably more dangerous than ISIS.

Power groups come and go in the Middle East, but a nuclear Iran represents a catastrophic threat to the Middle East and the whole world.

And let's not forget that Iran is prone to severe earthquakes, which could do damage to nuclear installations.

The powerful United States military could stop ISIS if it wanted to. But the White House chooses not to.

As long as ISIS is capturing the front pages, the US government can quietly continue to ENABLE Iran to carry out its goal of becoming a nuclear power.

To begin with, it would unleash a nuclear arms race in the area. Several Arab countries, such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt, are already making plans to the acquisition of nuclear reactors "for peaceful purposes," which is the first step towards the development of nuclear weapons.

The White House also continues pushing its Two-States Final Solution for Israel, in spite of all evidence demonstrating that once Palestinians gain control of territory - as they did in Gaza - they don't stop there, but use it to terrorize Israel.

Gaza is not a state yet, and so their military and diplomatic capabilities are very limited.  But imagine what it would be like once Palestine becomes an independent state.

Israel's defensive options would be drastically reduced.  The Islamic State of Palestine would have additional powerful allies that would come to their defense.

We can already hear the White House sternly warning Israel that no matter how much terror the Arabs inflict against Israelis, Israel must restrain its response lest it ignites a region-wide conflict.

Israel could not cope with a protracted war of attrition by "militants" hiding behind women and children.  They would dig tunnels all along the border and drive Israelis away from their homes, and eventually from Israel itself.   Many Israeli families living along the Gaza border have already fled, not to return.

Israel is a tiny country.  Where would Israelis go if attacked along their northern, southern and eastern borders, and their military is restrained by the US government?

Just recently the White House forced Israel into a premature cease fire with Gaza that left many terror tunnels in place.

Furthermore, how could the state protect Israelis if there is a Palestinian land corridor splitting the country in two, as envisioned by the White House, as part of their Two State Final Solution?

What sense would there be for Israel's existence if Jews lose their very heart, Jerusalem, to the descendants of Arab conquerors and occupiers?

The following is an analysis of how Iran is quietly advancing in the Middle East - with the White House tacit assistance.

Questionable White House Middle East policies and allies.

(Avi Issacharoff's column follows next.)
  • While the media focuses almost obsessively on the maps of IS’s takeover, “moderate” Iran is gaining control over even larger chunks of territory: Lebanon, parts of Syria and Iraq, and now Yemen.
  • The Saudis knows that the Iranians have transferred weapons to the Yemen Houthi rebels.
  • Iranian Revolutionary Guards forces were caught by the Yemeni army during the fighting.
  • The Saudis are worried that the new Iranian expedition will try to produce unrest in their own Shi’ite areas.
  • Next month, six months of talks over the Iranian nuclear program will end, likely without a major breakthrough. But even without nuclear weapons, it looks like the Iranians are doing just fine.
  • How is it possible that even the mighty air power of several armies, led by the US, cannot defeat IS?  The answer, it seems, lies in the tactical level.  IS has changed tactics.  They are evolving, like a virus.
  • IS has changed the way in which they move around, and even in the way they dress, no longer with their distinctive black outfits.
  • With no boots on the ground, the US is flying blind.
  • In order to create targets, intelligence is needed. And without the presence of intelligence personnel and special forces on the ground, there is not sufficient information, it turns out, to stop the advance of IS.
  • Hard to believe, but the US administration has chosen Turkey and Qatar as closest allies in the Middle East - both of whom support and finance jihadists, including IS.
  • Turkey has even gone to the extent of bombing Kurds, who are the only reliable military force in the region capable of fighting IS.
  • The US has denied weapons to the Kurds and restricted weapons sales to Israel, but sold $11 billion worth of weapons to Qatar, which arms jihadists, including Hamas.

While the world watches IS,
 Iran quietly advances.

By Avi Issacharoff

‘Moderate’ Tehran is gaining control over larger chunks of territory — Lebanon, parts of Syria and Iraq, and now Yemen, where a vital Israeli sea route is now threatened.

While the entire world follows breathlessly the battles between Kurdish forces and the Islamic State in Kobani, the Syrian city on the border between Turkey and Syria, Iran is slowly completing an impressive takeover of Yemen.
