ANCIENT REPTILIAN MONSTER SURFACES IN SIBERIAN RIVER

Extinct reptile with 'toothy grin' found by fishermen as they rafted in remote area of the Yamal peninsula.

Is it a mesosaur? Or some other kind of dinosaur? No-one is quite sure yet.

Siberian zoologists are rushing to the site to extract the crocodile-like remains before they are covered by ice and washed away in the spring floods next year.

Intrepid tourists from the Wild North Fishing Club found fossil as they rafted on the Ruta-Ru River. 'The boat of our group member Oleg Yushkov bumped against something. It was not very deep there and he could discern a stone looking like the head of a prehistoric animal', said the club's chairman Yevgeny Svitov. 'He made a photo of the discovery and showed it to us. One source claimed it had a 'toothy grin'.

The above news story may seem funny, but we have to admit that people who believed it were well-motivated by high ideals and their love for animals.

This kind of joke is easily exposed. But there is a darker side to this. The media and politicians routinely manipulate the public - often, although not always, appealing to high ideals.

If you can make people believe Spielberg killed a triceratops, you can make them believe a terrorist is really a freedom fighter.

In our Orwellian society there is deliberate confusion as to who is a hero and who is a villain or a terrorist.

The Che Guevara who many idealistic youth admire, was actually a murderer and a racist.

The media and ideologues with a twisted agenda have convinced the public that many obvious terrorists are just "freedom fighters", while patriots are characterized as terrorists.

Arthur was a stray dog who decided to join a European Peak Performance Team during their treck through the jungle in South America. It all started when one of the members gave him a meatball.
