BOYCOTT THIS - ISRAELI PROCEDURE CURES 100% CASES OF EXPOSURE TO ACUTE RADIATION - US Government eager to purchase it, while it implements the labeling of Israeli products from the Biblical Jewish heartland and endorses their boycott - While hostile to Israel, White House generous aid to Palestinians goes into a black hole of endemic corruption

Israeli drug developer Pluristem Therapeutics Inc. last week announced that the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which is part of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), will initiate studies in large animals to evaluate dosing for Pluristem’s PLX-R18 as a medical counter measure in the treatment of the hematologic components of Acute Radiation Syndrome (ARS).

The company has developed an anti-radiation therapy that the US government is eager to purchase, because it cures 100% of cases of exposure to radiation. Acute Radiation Syndrome is caused by exposure to very high levels of radiation, such as those that could occur in a nuclear catastrophe. The syndrome can cause severe illness or death.

MYSTERY ILLNESSES DNA DATA BASE DEVELOPED - MAY HELP WITH TREATMENT IN SOME CASES

A new website spearheaded by Canadian researchers is being launched worldwide in an effort to speed the discovery of genes responsible for rare disorders.

Approximately 350 million people suffer from more than 7,000 rare diseases around the globe, but the genetic cause for at least half of them is still unknown.

With so few others affected, physicians don’t know how to diagnose or treat them. But the makers of PhenomeCentral are hoping to connect the dots via the new web portal.

OPTOGENICS - HEALING PAIN BY USING LIGHT

Could a beam of LIGHT eradicate pain instantly? Groundbreaking study could being relief to chronic sufferers
  • Study used light to switch off pain in mice
  • Could one day allow chronic pain suffers to block pain
  • Technique could also treat Parkinson's disease, addiction, depression and autism
Researchers at Stanford have revealed a groundbreaking project that used beams of light to control pain in mice.  The team found they were able to switch receptors on and off, raising hopes the same technique could one day be used in humans.

CONTROLLING NEURONS AND ANIMAL BEHAVIOR WITH NANOPARTICLES

Clusters of heated, magnetic nanoparticles targeted to cell membranes can remotely control ion channels, neurons and even animal behavior, according to a paper published by University at Buffalo physicists in Nature Nanotechnology.

The research could have broad application, potentially resulting in innovative treatments for disease that could remotely manipulate selected proteins or cells in specific tissues, or improved diabetes therapies that remotely stimulate pancreatic cells to release insulin.

The work also could be applied to the development of new therapies for some neurological disorders, which result from insufficient neuro-stimulation.

By developing a method that allows the use of magnetic fields to stimulate cells both in vitro and in vivo, this research will help unravel the signaling networks that control animal behavior.

Science fiction today - Reality tomorrow.
It goes without saying that in our government-controlled society, there may come a time when human behavior that does not suit those in power will also be modified with perhaps only one session in a behavior-modification booth at your local police department.

Or better still, with a magnetic nanoparticles gun authorities will perhaps be able to do collective behavior modification of an entire crowd.

THE MINDWALKER - THE WORLD'S FIRST MIND-CONTROLLED EXOSKELETON

Check out MindWalker — an exoskeleton that will soon enable paralysed and locked-in people to walk using only their mind. Ah, who are we kidding — we're ALL going to eventually want this for ourselves!

The groundbreaking device, which is currently under review by the European Commission, consists of three main elements: The exoskeleton itself, a virtual-reality user interface, and the mind-reading component. It was developed by a consortium of several major universities and companies.

Users control the MindWalker using an EEG cap that measures electrical activity at various points  across the scalp. There are a number of different ways to control the exoskeleton in this way, but the best model involves wearing a pair of glasses with flickering diodes attached to each lens.

NEW HOPE FOR ALZHEIMER'S, DEMENTIA AND BRAIN DAMAGE PATIENTS WITH ISRAELI TREATMENT

Israeli researchers have found that high levels of oxygen in a pressurised atmosphere can significantly improve chronic brain damage.

The study, carried out by Tel Aviv University and the Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in Tzrifin, showed how patients who sustained brain injuries from 20 years ago improved their cognitive and physical responses following the treatment, Xinhua reported.

Doctors worldwide treat brain injuries with physical rehabilitation, but its effects have been limited partly because the window of opportunity to repair the brain damage after the injury is short.

According to the Israeli researchers who worked on the study, the advantage of using hyperbaric oxygen - high levels of oxygen in a pressurised cabin - is that the oxygen reaches deeper into the brain tissues, reviving dormant nerve cells and reactivating blood vessels.

Researchers were also positive that the study, published recently in Public Library of Science's journal PLOS One, will help treat other diseases linked to brain injury and aging, such as dementia and Alzheimer's.

"Maybe in the future we'll be able to give anti-aging treatment that will strengthen the functioning of the brain and preserve it for the rest of one's life," Eshel Ben Jacob, professor from the Tel Aviv University's School of Physics and Astronomy and the Sagol School for Brain.

FDA APPROVES ISRAELI PILL-CAM THAT REPLACES COLONOSCOPIES

Given Imaging (Yoqneam, Israel) has received FDA clearance for the latest PillCam SB 3 gastrointestinal imaging technology.

The new generation PillCam capsule endoscopy now features a variable frame rate, automatically recognizing the speed at which it’s moving and adjusting the camera to shoot between 2 and 6 frames a second.

Additionally, new optics promises to improve imaging and should help physicians identify lesions and other morphological irregularities.

Given is claiming that the new technologies improve the resolution over previous models of the PillCam by 30%. The SB 3 also comes with new software for video compression and presentation, allowing for faster and more intuitive review of what the camera captured.

The whole thing is 11 mm x 26 mm and weighs in at less than four grams.

According to Given Imaging, the PillCam SB 3 is indicated “to detect and monitor small bowel abnormalities associated with Crohn’s disease, obscure gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding and iron deficiency anemia.”
