Winter waltz: Photographer captures young polar bears dancing in the snow and even sharing a KISS as they show affection to one another
  • Two polar bear cubs, aged one and three years old, looked to be dancing hand-in-hand and then shared a kiss
  • The cubs were passing time while their mothers were hunting. After a few minutes she returned with food
  • Photographer Shayne McGuire caught the images in Alaska and said their movements mirrored each other
  • When food is scarce, usually in the summer, larger polar bears have been known to kill and eat their own kind

Fully grown grizzlies weigh around 500lb - dwarfing six-month-old cubs who come in around 30lb. No wonder she looks unperturbed as she drags them across the calm waters
Now that's a bear hug! Mother grizzly lets her kids cling on to her as she crosses a river in Alaska
  • Photos shows the moment cubs cling to their mother as she crosses a creek in the Alaskan wilderness.  The six-month-old cubs were apparently too scared to cross the water by themselves
  • The images were captured at Silver Salmon Creek, in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska by elementary school teacher Ian Stotesbury, 37, from Vancouver, BC
  • The Canadian province of British Columbia allows the hunting of these animals for "sport".

ALASKA SENATOR WANTS  TO PUT BOUNTY ON OTTERS
     TO PROTECT SEAFOOD INDUSTRY

Even if the bill were to pass, it would be unenforceable under the federal law, said Bruce Woods, a spokesman for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. States cannot enforce laws or regulations related to the taking of any marine mammal under the law unless the Interior secretary transfers conservation and management authority to that state.
