That question has puzzled many people, and it is by explaining the difference between the acronyms ISIL and ISIS that one can begin to understand what may be behind the US president's preference for ISIL.   

The president's own biography and consistent anti-Israel and pro-Muslim policies may give even further clues.  

Aside from putting intense pressure on Israel to sacrifice ancient Jewish land to satisfy Muslim demands, the US president has defied a Congressional law recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital.    

 

According to Obama's policy Americans born in Jerusalem are not allowed to list Israel as country of birth on their US passport, implying that Jews are "occupying" the city that has been the center of Judaism and Jewish history for thousands of years. 

 

Jerusalem is the very heart of Jewish history, dating back thousands of years.  Jerusalem and the Land of Israel were invaded and occupied by Muslims in the seventh century AD.  Israel liberated the Biblical part of Jerusalem from the Jordanians in 1967.   President Obama has consistently chosen to legitimize Muslim claims of ownership to Jerusalem and to much of Biblical Israeli land.   

 

President Obama has also officially endorsed the European Union's labeling and boycotting of imported Jewish goods from Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, the Biblical areas that Muslims are claiming for the creation of an Islamic state of Palestine.

 

Could his preference for the acronym ISIL over ISIS be because ISIL includes Israel among its targets for conquest?  Following is a summary of comment by blogger Carl of Israel Matzav: 

 

ISIS = Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. 

ISIL = Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.  

The geographical term LEVANT refers to a multi-nation region in the Middle East. It’s a land bridge between Turkey to the north and Egypt to the south.  It includes Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt's Sinai, and Israel.    

US government agencies, and especially president Obama, call it ISIL instead of ISIS. 
 

Obama could be sending a coded message to Muslims all over the Middle East that he personally does not recognize Israel as a sovereign nation, but as territory belonging to the Islamic State.

 

Obama's plan has been to drag his feet fighting ISIS to buy them time to make as many gains as they can.   The Islamic State has garnered millions of dollars, a vast cache of weapons, and has captured Syrian fighter jets and 12 commercial passenger planes.  

 

The ultimate goal, of course, has not changed and will never change. The ultimate goal is the destruction of Israel.

ISIS - a geographically and ideologically expanding Muslim terrorist army - has been wrecking havoc for years, and yet the mightiest military power in the world, the USA, has been hesitant to wipe it out.  Why?

 

 

There is much the US could have done to weaken them into insignificance, but it has chosen not to.   The world looks on with astonishment as until recently 75% of US planes came back from bombing runs into ISIS-controlled territory without dropping a single bomb. 

 

And when American pilots do bomb ISIS these days - shamed by Russia - the White House makes sure ISIS receives leaflets with advance notice so that no ISIS fighter (called 'civilians' by the White House) is injured.

Incidentally, Putin is no hero in fighting ISIS.  His main interest is to carve out a Middle East area of influence for Russia by preserving the rule of Syria's president Assad.

 

Putin's actions will ensure the further empowerment of Assad's two other allies:  Iran and Hezbullah.

 

Neither Iran nor Hezbullah are friendly to the West.  Iran with its nuclear bombs in the making, often calls for death to America, and threatens Israel with complete annihilation.  And the Lebanon-based Shiite terror army Hezbullah has 150,000 rockets aimed at Israel alone.

There are no good guys in this conflict. 

 

ISIS and assorted Jihadists on one side, and Hezbullah and Iran on the other.  All of them with genocidal intentions against the West and Israel.  

 

There are no perfect solutions either.  As long as there is Islam there will be war between Shia and Sunni Muslims (each thinks the other is illegitimate), and between Muslims and everyone else - because the Koran and Hadith mandate good Muslims to conquer the world by jihad and slaughter the Infidel. 

 

What Russia is getting out of meddling into this conflict is a temporary role of influence in the Middle East.  Just temporary.  The ME is always in flux.  All western powers who thought they were manipulating Muslims for their own advantage have been proved wrong, and their efforts have invariably backfired.

 

Western political elites' insane manipulative schemes can be best illustrated by the fact that the White House still pursues the handing over of the Israeli Golan Heights to Syria. 

 

This area that was liberated from Syria by Israel in the defensive war of 1967 would - according to US and EU policies - be better off in the hands of assorted Jihadi groups that dominate Syria, than under Israel's sovereignty. 

 

The Israeli Golan is an island of peace and civilization for Jews and Arabs living there, while acts of war and terror explode every single day across the border with Syria.   

 

Golan is the area in blue on the map. The grey diagonal lines are an area of separation.  If Muslims were to control the Israeli Golan, they could have extraordinarily easy access to Israel by land and by water (Sea of Galilee).  A Muslim Golan is what the White House envisions if it can bully Israel into surrendering it.

ISIS attacks Paris, all eyes on ISIS: a gang of terrorists that lord a chunk of the Middle East and claim to be ‘a State.’  Out of nowhere they came, it seems.   But any hat trick needs misdirection — the magician’s trade. Now you see it, now you don’t.   Case in point: strike terror in Paris, capture the attention, erase history.

ISIS was US policy. It was brewing since 2003, when the US invaded Iraq and ‘gifted’ Iraqis with jihadist terrorism that set the US-military prison system to overflowing, becoming a “jihadi university,” as the general in charge called it.

 

When “jihadi university” graduates produced ISIS, and ISIS produced the Syrian Civil War, the US helped them again.

Pay attention, or you won’t see the next trick coming.  After ISIS claimed responsibility for a massive terror attack in Paris, Margot Wallstrom, on Swedish television, explained the radicalization of European Muslims thus: “Palestinians see that there isn’t a future.”[1]

 

A conditioned response, as old as the West. Something bad happened? Blame a Jew. And don’t you worry about making sense.  Wallstrom can do better. It is her job to do better: she is the Swedish foreign minister. If she would only deputize someone from her staff to do a few hours research she would find—in the publicly available sources—the real cause of ISIS and its violence. (But perhaps she’s done that already…)

Israel was made to surrender Sinai for "peace" - the first chapter of the Peace Hoax.  Now Sinai is a hotbed for jihadists of all persuasions, and ISIS is growing in power and influence in the area, slaughtering dozens of Egyptians soldiers in recurrent acts of terror. 

 

The world's obsession with removing Israel's control over territories has been fatal.  It invariably leads to terror, bloodshed and political turmoil.  Gaza is another example. 

 

Now the European Union is ratcheting up its boycott of Israel in order to force the country to cede ancient Jewish land to create a tinderbox terrorist entity named the State of Palestine.

 

It is quietly acknowledged that that the State of Palestine will eventually fall under the control of ISIS, or become a satellite of Iran.

In the following article the author seems to make a distinction without a difference between ISIS and the Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas.

 

In fact, the only difference between ISIS and already established Muslim factions and countries is the degree to which they apply Koranic instructions, but not one of substance. 

ISIS and Saudi Arabia govern following exactly the same religious texts.  They both decapitate, crucify, and mutilate opponents and lawbreakers.  ISIS seems more outrageous only because the movement is on a stage of conquest and expansion.  This has been exposed many times by authorities in the subject, as in the article cited here:

The Palestinians have been ruthless when fighting each other, and even more vicious when murdering Jewish civilians. 

 

A Palestinian state - whether ruled by Fatah or Hamas - would not be much different from  ISIS, as long as there is the State of Israel to conquer, and Jews to murder. 

That aside from Fatah and Hamas waging their own brutal internecine warfare.

Islamic State Deepens Grip in Future Palestine

According to Israeli security forces, dozens of Hamas and Islamic Jihad members in the West Bank have defected to the Islamic State in recent months. Their main goal, according to sources, is to topple the Palestinian Authority and launch terror attacks on Israel.

Some 200 supporters of the Islamic State, who held up Islamic State flags, took to the streets of Gaza City to protest the latest cartoons published by the French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo.

 

They also chanted slogans that called for slaughtering French nationals, and burned French flags. Attempts by Hamas to impose a news blackout on the protest failed, as photos and videos found their way to social media.
