• Diver finds nuclear device that was dumped or exploded off the B.C. coast on Feb. 13, 1950, when an American B-36 bomber crashed while en route from Alaska to Texas.
• Allegedly, it was packed with lead – not plutonium – and TNT.  (Would they tell us if it was a real nuke?)
• None of the stories at the time of the crash detailed the payload the bomber had been carrying.
• But eventually it was discovered that the bomber’s mission was to simulate a nuclear attack on San Francisco, and the plane had been carrying a Mark IV nuclear weapon.
• The Mark IV was a giant bomb, weighing almost 11,000 pounds (4,900 kilograms).   It was similar to the atomic bomb that killed 39,000 to 80,000 people in Nagasaki, Japan. 
• The pilot said the bomb aboard the B-36 had lead in its core instead of plutonium, so it wasn’t a functional atomic bomb. But the crew decided to jettison it over water before abandoning the plane.
• Haida GwaiI was then called Queen Charlotte Islands, an idyllic, remote area.

The Obama administration has turned down an urgent appeal from Egypt’s government for the delivery of U.S. Apache attack helicopters needed for counterterrorism operations in the Sinai Peninsula.

 

U.S. officials and a Western diplomat said the 10 AH-64 attack helicopters had been blocked from delivery in October in response to the administration’s opposition to the military ouster of Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammad Morsi last year.

US IN GREATEST DANGER SINCE 1930 SAYS SENIOR MILITARY ANALYST

  

Senior military analyst Lt. Gen. Thomas G. McInerney spoke to Arutz Sheva on Tuesday, warning that rising Russian and Iranian influence, coupled with America's waning Middle East presence, has put the US in the most dangerous situation it has been in since the 1930s just prior to World War II.

 

McInerney addressed the global security situation following the "EMPact" conference in Washington DC, in which analysts warned that the US is unprepared for an Iranian "Electromagnetic Pulse" attack.

 

The General urged the world to wake up to the Iranian nuclear threat which he fears may be allowed a free hand following deals in the ongoing Geneva conference.

 

Aside from the Iranian danger, McInerney noted that spreading Russian influence poses a serious threat.

 

In particular McInerney highlighted the danger of US President Barack Obama's handling of longtime US ally Egypt, which has recently turned to Russia.

 

Just on Wednesday reports revealed that Egypt signed a $4 billion arms deal with Russia designed to let Egypt attain parity with the IDF.

 

 Excerpts of General McInerney's statements:

 

We're giving a key ally away to the Russians--Egypt. And Egypt is crucial to our success in the Middle East because of its relationship to the (Israeli) peace treaty, number two--the Suez canal, our access, number three--overflight.

 

For the first time an Arab nation - Egypt - is openly attacking the Muslim Brotherhood, the radical Islamists. And we should be supporting General (Abdel) Al-Sisi, we are not. He's extremely important.

 

You've seen what's happened in Syria. We have now legitimized (President Bashar) Assad, we've legitimized the Soviet hegemony in the region, as well as the Iranian hegemony.

 

So we have a very dangerous situation in the world, and fundamentally in two days I believe this administration will acquiesce and pull off the sanctions against the Iranians.

 

We should double the sanctions, that's the only thing that's working. So that's why I believe it is the most dangerous position the United States has seen since the 30s.

 

Finally, we are unilaterally disarming the US military, it is very dangerous what's going on. And all of this is coming together at a very critical time in our history.

US TO TRAIN LIBYA'S ARMY - RISKING INCLUDING ISLAMISTS AMONG THEM

The US government's aim is to help stabilize Libya, an oil-rich country. 

 

Since the ouster of Muammar Gadhafi in 2011, Libya has had a weak government in a region dominated by Islamist militias ranging from al Qaeda affiliates to Islamists that do not support al Qaeda.

The U.S. military is preparing to conduct military and special operations training for Libya’s military and the training will risk including Islamist terrorists among the trainees, according to the commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command.

 

Adm. William McRaven, the commander who helped lead the covert raid to kill al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, said in a brief interview Saturday that the counterterrorism training operation has not begun. “We’re in the early stages,” he told the Free Beacon.

 

“We are going to have to assume some risks,” McRaven said. “Right now we have the authorities to do that training, and I think as a country we have to say there is probably some risk that some of the people we will be training with do not have the most clean records, but at the end of the day it is the best solution we can find to train them to deal with their own problems.”

 

McRaven said the training would include a “very, very thorough review” of the Libyans who will take part.

The briefing—one in a series that will be held over the next weeks—was aimed at convincing members of Congress to fight against further defense cuts as next year’s federal budgeting process gets underway.

 

The brief was led by Brigadier General Martin Schweitzer and Dr. Laura Junor, a deputy assistant secretary of defense for readiness.

 

Military leaders from all branches of the service have increasingly spoken out in recent months about how the budget crisis is impacting readiness and their ability to carry out missions.

TOXIC ADJUVANT BEING ADDED TO OUR VACCINES - SAME ONE BLAMED FOR GULF SYNDROME IN SOLDIERS USED AS GUINEA PIGS

"For the past 64 years, the United States Military and other agencies within our government have used our servicemen and women as test subjects, oftentimes in secret and without informed consent," explained Air Force Capt. Richard Rovet.

"In December of 1994, the United States Senate released a report titled, 'Is military research hazardous to a veteran's health? Lessons spanning half a century' ... [that] outlines the unethical use of servicemen and women as test subjects, guinea pigs."

At a 2010 gathering of the American Rally for Personal Rights in Chicago, registered nurse and retired Air Force Captain Richard Rovet warned his listening audience about the dangers of squalene MF59, the devastation and horrors of which he witnessed first hand during his time in the service.

 

The experimental oil-in-water adjuvant, which was forced on all servicemen beginning in 1999 via the mandatory anthrax vaccine, caused many of Capt. Rovet's comrades to suffer severe and permanent side effects.

After establishing that squalene MF59 was admittedly experimental, Capt. Rovet went on to explain how the U.S. government willfully ignored all documented evidence showing that the anthrax vaccine, and squalene MF59 in particular, was directly responsible for triggering an epidemic of Gulf War syndrome that left hundreds of thousands of servicemen seriously injured or dead.

 

Not only this, but the U.S. Department of Defense actually ordered that both the anthrax vaccine and a related botulism toxoid vaccine, both of which contained experimental squalene MF59, not be annotated in soldiers' medical records -- they were instead generically identified as "Vac A" and "Vac B" in order to conceal their identity.

"Roughly one in four of the 697,000 veterans, my brothers and sisters who served in the first Gulf War, are afflicted with Gulf War illness ... [and] study after study shows a higher rate of Gulf War illness in vaccinated veterans.

 

That's a fact," added Capt. Rovet. "Military members can be ordered to take medicines and vaccines against their will, or be imprisoned and discharged from the armed forces with a criminal record for the rest of their lives, right up there with rape perpetrators."

IRAN HACKED NAVY COMPUTERS

As President Obama appeals for better relations with Iran, unnamed U.S. officials are pointing fingers at Iranian hackers for spying on U.S. Navy computers. 

 

U.S. officials are saying that Iranian government or state-sponsored hackers penetrated an unclassified U.S. Navy computer network used for email and the “service’s internal intranet,” the Navy Marine Corps Internet, the Wall Street Journal reports.

 

The most recent incident occurred last week, said the officials. No sensitive information was stolen, nor were the email accounts of top officials compromised.

 

Hackers used an unsophisticated means to penetrate the network, revealing a weakness in the Navy’s system, the officials said.

Demoralized, poorly trained, or undisciplined? - US Air Force strips 17 officers of authority to control and launch nuclear missiles.

The US Air Force stripped 17 officers to control and launch nuclear missiles after repeated failings over the last few years involving competence and discipline issues. 

The group's deputy commander said it is suffering "rot" within its ranks. Back in 2008 a Pentagon advisory group report found a "dramatic and unacceptable decline" in the Air Force's commitment to the mission.

Air Force Lt. Col. Jay Folds email describes a culture of indifference, with at least one intentional violation of missile safety rules and an apparent unwillingness among some to challenge or report those who violate rules. There are also complaints of about unwarranted questioning of orders from superior officers by launch crews and failure to address superiors with the proper respect.

Bruce Blair, who served as an Air Force ICBM launch control officer in the 1970s and is now a research scholar at Princeton University, said "The nuclear air force is suffering from a deep malaise caused by the declining relevance of their mission since the Cold War's end over 20 years ago,"

Blair said in an interview. "Minuteman launch crews have long been marginalized and demoralized by the fact that the Air Force's culture and fast-track careers revolve around flying planes, not sitting in underground bunkers baby-sitting nuclear-armed missiles."

MYSTERY BARRELS OOZING IN LAKE SUPERIOR

Another case of toxic disposal by hiding it - Never a good idea.

Back in the 1950s the Department of Defense dumped 1,400 barrels into Lake Superior, not far from the Duluth-Superior Harbor. The barrels allegedly contained scrap metal. However, purple ooze eventually began to leak. 

The DOD contracted a local Indian band to recover some of those barrels, but it was done under strict news blackout. There were reports of "bouncing Geiger counters" in the area, which led to speculation as to their actual contents. 

In January the band issued a statement saying there was no immediate threat from those barrels. Which can also mean that the effects on human and animal health may take months or years to appear.
