Hair-raising video footage was released by Israeli media on Monday morning, showing an Arab citizen of Israel in the city of Abu Gosh to the west of Jerusalem cruelly sealing his crying infant daughter in a plastic bucket.

The potentially suffocating act of severe abuse was recorded on video and revealed by Walla on Sunday. (Link to video further down this page).

The abusive father, who hails from a well known family in Abu Gosh, claimed that his potentially lethal action was meant to be "educational."

In the video, he can be heard telling his daughter that he's "taking her to the butcher shop because he gave up on her," before locking her in the bucket and carrying it around the city.

After the video reached the hands of the police, it was decided to summon the abusive father to an investigation, at the end of which he was arrested for abusing a minor. "This is one of the most shocking pieces of footage we've received," said the police.

Key points:

Palestinian culture gives men ownership over their wives
Most Palestinian women agree with the notion that men have a right to use violence against women.
Gaza leads in the severity and frequency of male violence against women.
There has been a 100% rise in honor killings in the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, according to their own statistics.
Many of those "honor killings" are perpetrated for financial reasons. (See extended report further on this page.)
Mahmoud Abbas, chief of the PA, has failed to amend the law that authorizes men to kill their women if it's done in a state of "great anger".
Some Palestinian women and men activists are vocal in their denunciation of this violence and the law that sanctions it.
But Palestinian criticism of violence against women may have more to do with concern with the Palestinians' image abroad than with genuine opposition to the practice.
Much of the push for statehood is based on a carefully crafted public relations campaign portraying Palestinians as close to sainthood and deserving an independent state.
There have been attempts to blame the Israeli "occupation" for such violence, but the practice of honor killings is widespread all over the Muslim world, and it even happens among Muslims living in the West.
What is not always mentioned is that violence against women is sanctioned and encouraged by Islam's sacred texts such as the Koran and the Hadith. (See quotes below.) Men who beat up or kill women think they are being good Muslims.
The rise in violence against women among Palestinians reflect a general shift towards increased orthodoxy among Muslims all over the world.

Violence against Palestinian Arab women is rampant in the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Gaza, official PA media reported last month, because both territories' laws and Palestinian culture give men "right of ownership" over their wives.

The head of the Women's Legal Counseling Center, Zainab Al-Ghneimi, stated to Al Hayat-Al Jadida that, under Palestinian rule, the husband "is the one who commands and prohibits." Her comments were translated by Palestinian Media Watch.

"The culture of the entire society" is that a husband "has bought the woman and paid for her, and therefore she has become his property and must obey his orders," Al-Ghneimi said.

Palestinian Arab women have been cultured into accepting this patriarchy, she noted. "41% of the women agreed that violence was justified if the woman leaves home without notifying her husband, while 74% agreed that violence was justified if she neglected her children," she said, quoting a March 29 Al-Hayat article. This is not Islam, she concluded. (However hitting and killing women is sanctioned by Islam's sacred texts.)

HONOR KILLINGS STILL TREATED LENIENTLY IN "MODERATE" PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY - The PA changed the law for public relations purposes, but does NOT enforce it

Abbas lied: "Honor killings" still treated leniently in PA

In 2010, the PA cabinet reclassified "honor killings" to be considered murder. It is unclear if this made any difference in the actual law.

In 2011, to much fanfare, Abbas claimed to remove the leniencies in existing PA law (based on Jordan's penal code) that would make "honor killing" a reason for a lighter sentence when killing a family member. Significantly, it still allowed leniency in sentencing if the victim had committed adultery or "other acts of sexual impropriety." It merely removed the leniency if the killer claimed he or she did it for "honor" reasons.

In other words, Palestinian Arabs who killed their sisters and daughters and wives could get shorter sentences as long as they claimed that the victims deserved it.

ANOTHER STRANGE OCCURRENCE IN GAZA - Israeli soldiers found themselves face to face with a woman suicide bomber. One of the soldiers began to say a Jewish prayer. Upon hearing it, the woman started to tremble and hesitate. Once disarmed, she turned out to be the daughter of a Jewish woman held captive by Palestinians

Breitbart - In the midst of an attack, IDF soldiers who had gone into a mosque looking for weapons, explosives, and rockets-- encountered a female suicide bomber who was about to detonate the belt she wore, which would have resulted in the deaths of the soldiers.

One of the soldiers instinctively recited the opening words of the holiest Jewish prayer “Shema Yisrael”. The female suicide bomber hesitated and began trembling, giving the soldiers a chance to grab her and disable the device.

The soldiers then took her prisoner and turned her over to a counter-intelligence unit. Their investigation uncovered that the female suicide bomber’s mother was a Jew who had married a Palestinian in Israel and, after the wedding, was smuggled against her will into Gaza.

There she lived a life filled with abuse and humiliation, and was basically a captive. In addition to the female suicide bomber, there were two smaller children as well. An armored force went in and rescued the two small children.

Hamas uses places of worship, hospitals, schools and civilian areas to launch attacks against Israel.

Before the IDF carries out an attack against Hamas, they drop hundreds of leaflets, warning people to leave the area.

They call every resident and send a warning shot before they actually launch the attack on a building.

As one former IDF soldier told Breitbart News, "Israel defends their people; these are people that use their people to defend themselves."

Arthur was a stray dog who decided to join a European Peak Performance Team during their treck through the jungle in South America. It all started when one of the members gave him a meatball. From then on Arthur followed them through all kinds of challenges. In the end his loyalty, bravery and devotion paid off.
