- One of the most pervasive cultural myths created after World War II was that of German guilt for the Holocaust.
- Several factors contributed to that myth. Among them was the American presence in Europe at a moment when Germany was on its knees, its cities razed by bombings, its economy and infrastructure in ruins.
- Germans tried to present themselves to the American victors as decent human beings who never knew the extent of the genocide, and had privately objected to Nazi atrocities against the Jews.
- Germans desperately needed American aid and good will, and the Americans tried to justify their help as morally valid because the formerly genocidal Germans were now contrite and eager to rehabilitate themselves in the international community.
- And so the victor and the vanquished began to weave this myth of German shame and guilt over the Holocaust.
- The truth is that Germans never felt guilt for the millions of Jews enslaved, tortured, and murdered by their government. Proof is how they refused to prosecute Nazi war criminals. They gave them jobs, pensions, and freedom to enjoy the rest of their lives.
- Instead of guilt, Germans felt shame at being caught perpetrating genocide, and profound regret at having lost the war.
- As signs of Germany's military defeat were clear all around them, the Nazis tried to erase physical evidence of mass graves and gas chambers. They did not succeed, and when the Allied armies liberated the camps, the evidence of the horrors inflicted by the Nazis became known all over the world.
- While the Allied troops' shock and disgust were genuine, the governments of the USA and Britain had been complicit with the Holocaust all along.
- The American and British governments repeatedly ignored pleas to bomb the railway tracks leading to death camps, gas chambers and crematoria. The Allies did not want to save Jews. They figured that post-war Europe was going to be hard enough to manage with millions of displaced non-Jews then working as slave laborers for the Nazis, and those who had been bombed out of their homes.
- The Allies did not want to deal with millions of Jewish survivors who would require food, lodging, and resettlement somewhere. The secret plan to let them die was witnessed in private conversations among top British government leaders and later quietly reported. This is a subject avoided by historians focusing on the heroic nature of the British struggle.
- One place the British certainly did not want Jews was Israel - or Palestine - as it had been called under the Ottoman occupation.
- In fact, many of the Jews who managed to survive the Holocaust were imprisoned for months, and even years, by the British in concentration camps to prevent them from going to Palestine. Both the British and the Americans were more interested in appeasing the Arabs than in doing what was morally and legally right.
- As soon as Germany was back on its feet it began a generous program of aid for Arabs living on Jewish land. This German-Muslim alliance was nothing new. In fact, the Mufti of Jerusalem, the leader of the Palestinian Arabs during World War II, had been a close ally of Hitler. He lived in Berlin and maintained a steady collaboration with top military Nazis with the aim of exterminating not only all European Jews, but all Middle East Jews as well.
- German aid for Palestinian terrorists has been continuous. After the war it was mostly in terms of money - although several top Nazi criminals escaped to the Middle East with the purpose of training Arabs to fight Jews.
- German aid to Arabs includes direct government funding, as well as moral, logistic, and financial support through non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in Israel to incite anti-Semitism and subversion among Palestinians. These NGOs number in the hundreds, and operate under the guise of humanitarian work.
Officially, the funding is aimed at “combating poverty, securing food, establishing peace, freedom, democracy and human rights, shaping globalisation in a socially equitable manner, and preserving the environment and natural resources.” In contrast to these stated moral objectives, research reveals that German federal funding is allocated to, amongst others, organizations that promote anti-Israel BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) and “lawfare” campaigns, anti-Zionism, promotion of a “one-state” vision, antisemitism, and violence. https://www.ngo-monitor.org/funder/germany/
Back in 2015 this blog published an article on how Germany had provided the Syrian government with the ingredients to manufacture poison gas.
The German government has known since at least 1984 about German companies providing Syria with ingredients and know-how for the manufacture of poison gas. Although the victims ended up being the Syrian opposition, everybody knew that the Jews of Israel were the obvious intended target of that German poison gas.

Lately Germany is back in the news with another report of the sale of chemical weapons technology to Iran, a country that threatens Israel with complete obliteration every day.
German guilt over the Holocaust? Never. In fact Germans have been contracting out the genocidal Palestinians and Iranians to finish the job Hitler left incomplete.
