Frank Sinatra had a life-long appreciation of Jewish culture, and he showed it in acts of support for the State of Israel. His connection with Jews started early on, with one of his caretakers, a woman named Goldie who spoke to him only in Yiddish.

Sympathetic to Jews for their victimization through the ages, Sinatra showed his feelings with real acts of friendship and generosity. During his career he performed for Israeli audiences that sometimes included high government officials.
He also gave large sums of money to Israeli causes. Believing in American-style coexistence, Sinatra's donations were often for the benefit of Arabs and Jews. He did not understand how deeply the Muslim genocidal hatred against Jews runs in the Middle East.

One of his most significant donations was for the construction of a student center for both Arabs and Jews at Hebrew University. Unfortunately, years later the building was the target of an Arab terror attack that killed nine people, some of them American students.
He once smuggled money to the Haganah, the Jewish army fighting Arab terrorists during the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine.
Some of Sinatra's memorable times in Israel:
Frank Sinatra Once Appeared At “Action for Palestine” Benefit Concert,
when the word "Palestine" still referred to Jewish land, before the word was hijacked by Arab terrorists.
In 1947, two years after filming The House I Live In, Sinatra appeared at a benefit concert for the Zionist cause at the Hollywood Bowl. The event was titled “Action for Palestine" - with Palestine then meaning the Jewish homeland, and Palestinians referred to Jews living in the Land of Israel, before Arabs arrogated that name for themselves.
A crowd of 20,000 wildly applauded their idol and called for approval of the partition plan then being deliberated at the United Nations.

Frank Sinatra In Israel in 1962
On Israel’s 14th Independence Day in 1962, Sinatra appeared on stage in Jerusalem and delivered a memorable speech urging people all over the world to support Israel. The enthusiastic audience heard his recorded speech with the stirring background sounds of the parade being held there.

List of other pro-Israel celebrities
who support the state of Israel
Among them, a favorite of mine, Julio Iglesias.
In regard to the conflict in the region, Iglesias warmly said that he "understands your feelings and your fight," prompting a resounding round of applause from the audience.
Iglesias also remarked on his past travels through the country and emphasized that Israel "is a part of my life" and that playing to an Israeli audience "is an honor."

Frank Sinatra adored Israel,
and Israel adored him right back
By Shalom Goldman
2015 is the year of the Frank Sinatra Centennial, and though the great singer’s 100th birthday won’t be marked until December, it seems only proper to remember the Chairman of the Board’s deep and abiding commitment to Israel, which he saw as an integral part of the chain of liberal causes that he supported throughout his career.
His activities on behalf of the Jewish state started with smuggling money to the Haganah under the British Mandate.
He performed for IDF troops, and in the 1970s and ’80s he raised millions of dollars for student centers in Nazareth and Jerusalem.
Sinatra’s initial visit to Israel came in 1962, as part of his first world tour.
