PUPPY LOVE - BABY AND DOG CUDDLE UP TOGETHER AT NIGHT WITH MATCHING STUFFED ANIMALS

A recent post of giant Newfoundland dogs babysitting children has been very popular. Here are pictures of a devoted dog and his human baby friend.

LOYAL DOG ZEUS STOOD WITH HIS CANINE GIRLFRIEND ATHENA FOR TWO DAYS BARKING FOR HELP after her foot got caught in a chain-link fence

Zeus the Pit Bull Terrier stood by the side of his companion Athena

She got her paw trapped on fence in Fulton County, Georgia

Zeus barked incessantly for two days, and managed to attract rescuers

The two have proved inseparable in an animal shelter, where they are up for adoption

She was just tall enough to stand on her forepaws while dangling in agony in a rural part of Fulton County, Georgia.

ATHENA

She was saved by animal rescuers, but only because Zeus stayed by her through the ordeal and attracted their attention with his incessant barking. The two terriers were taken in by a local animal shelter and have been inseparable while Athena recovers.

A spokesman for the Atlanta LifeLine Animal Project, which named the two dogs after Greek deities, said: 'We received a call from someone saying there was a dog hanging by her toe on a fence and that she had been there for two days.

'They knew this because someone had mentioned seeing them two days prior, but didn't tell the caller until the day they called us. 'Standing by the dog we named Athena was a boy we named Zeus.'

'Zeus barked nonstop for help until someone finally found out about them and called us. Zeus did not want Athena out of his sight. He cried and barked so loudly when we took her back to the vet trailer for treatment, that we had to bring him back and put him in the cage beside her. Athena also couldn't be taken outdoors to the play yard without Zeus.

DOG ARTHUR RESCUED FROM ECUADOR BY ATHLETES IS FREE FROM QUARANTINE TO JOIN HIS NEW FAMILY IN SWEDEN

Mikael Lindnord adopted Arthur the dog after the mutt refused to leave his extreme sports team on a 430-mile journey through the Amazon

Lindnord and the rest of Team Peak Performance brought Arthur back to their native Sweden

Today, Arthur was finally released from quarantine to start his new life with Lindnord and his family

Lindnord said: 'I came to Ecuador to win the World Championship. Instead, I got a new friend'

His wife Helen adds: 'He will be loved by our small family and all of our friends'

MOVING STORY OF HEROIC MOTHER DOG WHO SAVED HER PUPPIES FROM A FIRE in Chile, and placed them on the fire truck for safety

The following story occurred in 2012, but it did not come to my attention until now. It's a moving story of animal love, devotion, and intelligence. It happened in Chile, where a mother dog went into a building on fire to rescue all her pups.

That was not all. She placed her babies on the fire truck, so that they would be safe while she carried on with her rescue. All but one puppy survived.

DOG FAINTS AFTER SEEING ITS OWNER AFTER A TWO YEAR SEPARATION

The moment a dog passed out from being overly excited at the sight of its owner has been caught on camera. The dog recovered OK.

Rebecca Ehalt, who is now based in Slovenia, returned to her family home in Pennsylvania recently for the first time in two years.

Video footage shows her walking up the driveway of her parents' property and being greeted by the family's very giddy pet schnauzer, which flops over after over-exerting itself barking.

DOG LOYALTY - REFUSED TO LEAVE HIS DEAD OWNER IN 100 DEGREE HEAT - Forced into a dog shelter, he is now too overcome with grief to be able to eat or drink

Loyal dog refuses to leave the spot where owner died and guards his body for hours despite nearly 100F heat

The bull terrier was found protecting the body of his master in the searing Oklahoma summer heat

The owner died of natural causes and was believed to be a transient

Animal control officers struggled with the dog as he fought to stay with his dead owner

Now at the local shelter, the dog's defiance has turned to sorrow as he displays behaviors strongly associated with mourning: he refuses to eat, to drink. Footage of the dog shows him unable at times to even muster the will to lift his head. They're the classic signs of grief. The shelter hopes to place him with a new family to mend his broken spirit.

A homeless man hospitalized in Brazil after a random attack has a best friend in his dog who waited eight days in the hospital parking lot until being able to see him. His dog Seco stayed outside in the parking lot, likely expecting him to return soon. His owner instead was inside eight days until they were reunited.

Seco sat patiently out front of the hospital waiting for da Silva to emerge.
