WESTERN PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES USED EAST GERMAN PATIENTS AS GUINEA PIGS

Without their consent and with the collaboration of the Communist East German government. An investigation has been launched.

The former Communist regime in East Germany and Western pharmaceutical companies colluded to test drugs on East German citizens without informing them of the dangerous side effects. There were several fatalities as a result. The East German government allegedly got paid up to 800,000 West German marks - about 400,000 euros ($520,000) - for each study.
