CANARY ISLANDS EARTHQUAKE SWARM
A few years ago I read the thriller Volcano by Richard Doyle. It was about the global havoc that would result from a mega volcano eruption at El Hierro in the Canaries. It would provoke a tsunami big enough to seriously flood the American east coast. "The wave to end all waves", said the book.
There has been a sharp increase in earthquakes in the Canaries lately, frequent enough to be characterized as a "swarm". Magma is on the move under the island.
