WHAT ATTRACTS PEOPLE TO VIOLENT MOVIES?
A recent German study concludes that people are more likely to enjoy watching violent movies if they can relate violence to their own life experience. Earlier studies had indicated that people watch violent movies for the vicarious thrill and the adrenalin rush. In other words, for the fun of it.
But this latest study shows that people also look for a deeper personal meaning in movie violence, something they can relate to in some way. The author of the study thinks that viewers can find admiration for acts of courage and moral beauty.

A while ago movie stars produced a video where they personally appealed to viewers to support US government anti-gun. Do it for the children, they pleaded. This provoked an immediate parody that denounced these movie stars hypocrisy, since most of them had made money with violent, even extremely gory movies.
