A 7-year-old Tennessee boy survived a horrific ordeal lost outside in below freezing temperatures by clinging to his faithful black Shih Tzu, Coco.
Dominic Jeffries was walking Coco in his front yard when she pulled him away from his home.
As Coco continued to pull, they both slipped behind a cement retainer wall that had been covered in brush. As temperatures dropped and the frigid night set in, Dominic began to hug Coco to keep warm, ABC News reported.
After several hours, even Coco began to get chilled, and Dominic took off his jacket to wrap the dog and warm it. Finally, Dominic was so worried that Coco would freeze he took the dog's leash off, hoping Coco would run home and fine help.
Dominic remained stranded all alone for another three hours, replacing his wet shoes and socks with a pair of gloves pulled over his feet. Finally just as daylight broke, 14 hours after he'd fallen in, a policeman finally spotted him.
