Amazing satellite images reveal the devastating march of floodwater across the Somerset Levels. The snapshots were taken 400 miles above the earth by the UK Space Agency's disaster monitoring satellite, the UK-DMC2, before and after the region was flooded. The astonishing images show the Rivers Parrett and Tone bursting their banks with thousands of gallons of water drowning low-lying villages. Tiny islands have been formed where meeting waterways have burst their banks - including the tiny village of Muchelney, cut off by the Parrett and Yeo for seven weeks.
