See pictures and video of this gentle and loving animal who, in spite of her agonizing suffering, still had one last bit of energy to offer a friendly gesture to approaching humans, who fortunately turned out to be a team from a rescue organization.
This poor dog was suffering from a fatal disease - canine distemper - and was left to die by the side of the road in Udaipur, India. However hopeless the situation, the pooch still had faith. She used her last remnants of strength to wag her tail in affection towards the rescuers that approached her.
The pooch was found by the members of Animal Aid Unlimited, an animal rescue center. They took the dog and treated her for 14 days with antibiotics and IV fluids. Luckily, soon she began to eat and walk again. Now she wags her tail with joy!

On the video a man strokes the starving puppy, which is covered in sores and pants heavily, before lifting her gently into the air and carrying her to the van.
A vet later attached the animal to a drip and for 14 days the team treated the pooch for her distemper with antibiotics and IV fluids.
After much supportive care the dog soon began to start eating and walking again and was able to spend time socialising with the other recovering animals at the centre.
The dog was captured on camera playing at the animal shelter in Udaipur, Rajasthan, and receiving some much-needed affection from the staff members.
Looking much stronger and with a genuine smile on her face, the pooch wags her tail with a lot more vigour in the second half of the video.
Since appearing online the footage has been viewed more than two million times, and numerous people have heaped praise on the charity workers.
One wrote: 'Wow. I think a few minutes later and she would have been dead. Thank you so much for rescuing her.'
Another said: 'To think she had enough energy left in her to wag her tail to show love for the ones coming to save her life. Amazing people you are. '
Animal Aid Unlimited is a rescue centre, hospital and sanctuary for stray animals found on the streets of Udaipur.
The centre acts as home to more than 4,500 rescued and recovered animals every year.
