Dog-tor Doolittle: Pet pooch is friends with other animals…and loves nothing more than snuggling up to his hamster and bird pals

Luiz Higa Junior got Bob the golden retriever when he was four months old
Since then, he has been happy to snuggle up with other pets in his home

Dogs may be man's best friend, but one adorable pooch has become best pals with eight birds and a hamster.

Bob the golden retriever has been taking the internet by storm thanks to these pictures of him snuggling up with his feathered and furry friends and their home in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Luiz Higa Junior, 31, got Bob when he was four months old - a month before he became the proud owner of a cockatiel and parakeet.

Since then, six other birds and a hamster have joined the clan and are now the subject of a popular Instagram profile bob-goldenretriever.

The page has more than 73,000 followers and shows Bob and his friends in a variety of adorable poses.

Luiz said: 'Since the beginning they have lived side-by-side and it has been so nice to see how they have behaved together.'
