Palestinians, and Gazans in particular, have been awash in billions of dollars donated to their cause over the years. They get so much money that their leaders live the life of tycoons. Money that should go to education and welfare is diverted into terror and corrupt activities.
Fifty thousand dollars could do so much more for people who literally have nothing in villages of Africa and Asia.

It is a pity that young Malala is being manipulated into taking the side of Gaza Muslims, who routinely violate the rights of women and children. Her gift has enormous symbolic connotations.
The problem with premature honoring individuals.
Malala was given honorary citizenship in Canada. Had the government known about her politics, it might have refrained from doing so.
She says she cares about children, but hundreds of children died in Gaza tunnel construction.
She says she cares about children, but hundreds of children died in Gaza tunnel construction.
Hundreds of children have died in the construction of terror and smuggling tunnels in Gaza. According to Palestinian sources, at least 160 children died from tunnel work accidents by mid-2012. Tunnel construction accelerated after that, and so did the work casualties among children. The number of injured and crippled children is not known.
Her unconditional donation frees up more money
for Hamas terror activities.
Palestinians - as Europe and USA subcontractors for killing Jews - are the recipients per capita of disproportionally greater humanitarian aid than any other group in the world.

The significant money gift from the Nobel Peace Prize winner will fund the same UNRWA buildings which harbored Hamas's rockets aimed at Israeli children.
INN - Malala Yousafzai, the youngest ever Nobel Peace Prize laureate, is to donate $50,000 (39,000 euros) to help rebuild United Nations schools in Gaza, the UNRWA said Wednesday.
The 17-year-old Pakistani children's rights activist won the World Children's Prize in Stockholm on Tuesday, and said she would donate all of that prize money to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, UNRWA said in a statement.
"Innocent Palestinian children have suffered terribly and for too long," UNRWA quoted Malala as saying. "We must all work to ensure Palestinian boys and girls, and all children everywhere, receive a quality education in a safe environment."
No fewer than three United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) schools were found, during the course of Israel’s 50-day Operation Protective Edge, to be serving for storage of rockets for the terrorist organizations Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
After the first finding of rockets at an UNRWA school, it was reported that rather than destroying the rockets, UNRWA workers called Hamas to come remove them to use in their terror war on Israeli civilians.
In another incident, three IDF soldiers were killed and seven others wounded in a booby-trapped UN clinic that was situated on top of terror tunnel entrances, showing the complicity of the UN in Gaza-based terror against Israel.
During the course of the Israeli operation, it was Israel that was criticized, both by the UN and the U.S., for attacking UNRWA facilities. Washington called one strike on terrorists operating adjacent to a UN school "disgraceful."
The IDF proved that terrorists in several cases fired rockets from the schools, prompting the response.
Malala, who survived being shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012, was jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize earlier in October, alongside India's 60-year-old Kailash Satyarthi for their championing of children's rights.
Earlier this month, Malala also received the US Liberty Medal and pledged her $100,000 award to education in her homeland Pakistan.

She is wasting her money. She actually thinks that what is missing in Gaza was money for education. Unfortunately, even if that money went to education the kids would be receiving the same extremist Islamic education that got her a bullet in the head. To be educated to hate, to destroy and to kill is probably not what she had in mind.

Hamas misfired rocket - not Israel - hit UNRWA school killing 17
Hamas rockets exploded in the area, and there was heavy combat going on. UNRWA admits rockets hidden in their other schools have "gone missing."
U.S. State Dept. spokeswoman Marie Harf was at a lost for coherency when asked about UNRWA’s turning over last week’s rockets to ”local authorities” and then finding out that Hamas had taken them. She refused to admit that “local authorities” and Hamas are synonymous.
