UPDATE
Violence erupts on Turkey-Syria border as Kurds on both sides tear down fences to let refugees flee and fighters cross to take on ISIS.
Hundreds of Turkish and Syrian Kurds tore down border fences and clashed with riot police in a show of solidarity in the fight against ISIS as the terror group tightened its siege on a strategic town.
Unarmed protesters who had gathered on the Turkish side of the border in support of Syrian Kurds rushed towards Kobani in an apparent bid to defend it from the Sunni militants.
The group, including pro-Kurdish politicians from Turkey, later gathered on a railway line on the Syrian side of the border, clashing with Turkish security forces who fired tear gas and were initially reluctant to let them back in.
It came as Islamic State fighters moved closer to Kobani after pushing back Kurdish forces and sending shells into Turkish territory, witnesses said.
U.S.-led air strikes have targeted Islamic State fighters elsewhere in Syria but some Kurdish military officials have said they made the situation in Kobani more precarious by pushing the Sunni insurgents towards the Turkish border.
The Sunni Muslim insurgents, who launched their assault on Kobani more than a week ago, besieging it from three sides, took control of high ground to the west of the town and a village to the east in fierce fighting.
The latest statement from the PKK leadership in the Qandil mountains of northern Iraq ratcheted up its already fierce criticism of the Turkish government, accusing it of a 'declaration of war' on the Kurdish people.
'There is a big explosion of anger and rebellion against Turkey among all Kurdistan's people,' it said in a statement. 'Getting ISIL to attack a small autonomous region like Kobani which only has a frontier into Turkey was the final straw.'

Kurds suspect Turkey of backing Islamic State (ISIS)
Turkey and its Kurdish population — for decades in conflict — suddenly find themselves facing a common enemy in the Islamic State group. So it may reasonable to expect prospects for long elusive peace between Turkey and Kurdish rebels to improve.
While thousands attempt to make their escape from Syria, soldiers try to restrain Turkish Kurds from crossing the opposite way to fight against IS |
Kurds who are arriving by the busload to join the battle are increasingly angry at a wary Turkish government trying to prevent them from crossing the border to defend Syrian Kurds from an onslaught that has left countless dead and about 150,000 fleeing into Turkey in recent days.
Kurdish leaders have warned that the discord could kill a peace process to end a bloody three-decade conflict over Kurdish autonomy in Turkey.

Turkish military sent armor and soldiers to border with Syria to control influx of refugees fleeing Islamic State
Thousands of refugees have gathered near Sanliurfa, just a few miles west of IS militant base near Kobani

At least 140,000 Kurds have fled into Turkey from Syrian border town in just six days, the UN claims
Their followers go even further, accusing Turkey of supporting ISIS and using it to attack Kurds. Those claims persist despite Turkey’s participation in a coalition against the Islamic State group and suggestions this week by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Turkey may take part in military operations.
On Thursday, about 1,000 Kurdish activists arrived at the border after a more than 750 mile (1,200 kilometer) overnight bus ride from Istanbul in response to a call for mass mobilization by the imprisoned leader of the PKK rebel group, Abdullah Ocalan.
The activists held a rally chanting: “Down with the Islamic State and AKP partnership,” referring to Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party, as black smoke and the sound of gunfire from the battle between Islamic State and Kurdish militants drifted over the border.
Many Kurdish activists say they believe that Turkish intelligence trained the Islamic State group and provided it with the heavy weaponry that it is using in an offensive against Kurds in Iraq and Syria.
Analysts say that the militants seized much of their heavy weaponry from garrisons, especially when they captured Mosul in Iraq in June.
Activists who came to the border said they planned to camp there until Turkish authorities let them across. Some were prepared to join the fight to protect Kobani, a Syrian city just miles (kilometers) away that has been under siege by the Islamic State and emptied except for the Kurdish fighters protecting it.
Turkish law bans people from going to war in a foreign country, but Turkey has tolerated other militants transiting its borders to fight the government of Bashar Assad.

Turkey deploys tanks on its borders to hold back refugees (mostly Kurds) from fleeing ISIS
The Turkish military has deployed tanks to the Syrian border where thousands of refugees - many of them ethnic Kurds - have gathered, fleeing from murderous Islamic State militants.

The porous border is believed to be the main route for Western would-be jihadists to join up with IS and other extremist groups in the Middle East as recruits fly into airports popular with tourists in southern Turkey, before easily slipping over the border into war-torn Syria.
But armed forces have rushed to control the barbed wire territory line which is now a key route of escape for Syrian Kurds.
Meanwhile, Kurdish forces in northern Syria pushed back an advance by Islamic State fighters towards a strategic town on the Turkish border on Thursday and appealed for U.S.-led air strikes to target the insurgents' tanks and heavy armaments.

THE WEST DENIES THE KURDS PROPER WEAPONS TO DEFEND THEMSELVES to thwart their independence aspirations - Now thousands of Kurds flee and pour into unfriendly Turkey as refugees
Always appeasing Muslim countries, the West would rather see the Kurds dead than allow them to establish their own country. The same way in which the West wants to dismantle Israel in order to satisfy Arab genocidal aims.
Today 30 million Kurds live as minorities in Syria, Iran and Turkey and Irak. The ISIS invasion has been devastating. The West does not consider them to be worthy of a state of their own, and not worthy of Western weapons to defend themselves.
Please note that it was the Kurds that made an effort to save the Yazidis from complete genocide by ISIS, while the West did nothing.

THE US COALITION AGAINST ISIS IS AN EMPTY SHELL - Five reasons why
The Coalition is also weakened by its reluctance to arm the Kurds, the best anti-ISIS fighters in the region, because they are afraid of Kurds' aspirations for independence
Main reasons:
1. Arabs and Muslims Do Not Trust America
2. Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar Actively Support Jihadists
3. Conflicting Loyalties in the Syrian Civil War Make Unity Difficult
4. The EU Does Not Want to Get Involved
5. No One Wants to Risk Their Own Soldiers

Kurdistan Tribune - 2,000 ISIS members are Turkish; Erdogan harbours jihadist terrorists, says Kurdish leader.
Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has allowed jihadists to receive training in Incirlik Adana and that he has kept Turkey’s 885 km Syrian border open to the jihadists, including ISIS, providing them a safe haven over the last three years, along with logistic support. This means brutal jihadist terrorists have quite easily entered southern and western Kurdish areas and killed both civilians and security forces.

The Kurds, helped by income from oil sales, have built a modern Kurdistan within Iraq.
It is a liberal, pro-Western, tolerant society.
