THE UK DAILY MAIL AS AN EXPLICIT SNAPSHOT OF OUR CORRUPT, FOOLISH, AND VIOLENT WORLD

I skim through the home page of the DAILY MAIL regularly because there I find excellent science articles, cute animal pictures, and other items of interest for my blog. Their photos are outstanding and I have posted hundreds of links to their articles, photo-essays, and animal stories. (Thank you, Daily Mail.)

However, the enjoyment of finding treasures on that website is marred by the litany of horrors on their headlines.

Someone could say that their crime headlines and stories about vacuous celebrities belong on a second rate tabloid.

I disagree.

Nauseating and depressing as they are, they are facts selected to make a strong indictment of our societies: the immorality, decadence, violence, foolishness, cruelty, corruption, waste, and depravation in Britain and elsewhere too.

There is a disturbing number of articles about parents' cruelty against their children, involving deliberate starvation, abuse, and even murder. There are increasing accounts of crimes committed by children against other children. There is also an ongoing trend of abuse against defenseless animals.

Even in times of close media scrutiny, there is still a shocking tolerance for corruption at the top in churches, journalism, government, entertainment, and so on - covering a wide range of crimes, including the victimization of children and youth.

The Daily Mail's main focus is Britain, of course, but the horrors come from a variety of geographical areas, nationalities, religions, and ethnic groups.

The Daily Mail's world view is devastating, and so it raises a number of questions. For example:

- Will humankind survive for much longer before destroying itself?

- Is humankind worth saving?

One sad note about Britain:

I've always been fascinated by that land. As a little girl I was intrigued by English fairy tales and history. I am still fascinated by how World War Two affected the nation, Churchill's leadership, the stoicism of the population, the bravery and sacrifice of their armed forces.

That is why it is so hard to relate their attitude during World War II to today's Britain.

After being misled and deceived by Labour Party's immigration policy, the country seems to be on an path of ethnic surrender with no will to affirm its traditional values. It is estimated that by mid-century the original British population will have voluntarily become a minority bound for eventual disappearance.

If those heroes who gave their lives in past wars could see today's Britain, they might realize that their sacrifice was all for nothing.

If at all possible, try to feed your pet people food. The web has samples of pet food recipes and information on what is nutritionally best for dogs and cats. Giving them people food will save you money in the long run, with a healthier pet and fewer visits to the vet.

Arthur was a stray dog who decided to join a European Peak Performance Team during their treck through the jungle in South America. It all started when one of the members gave him a meatball. From then on Arthur followed them through all kinds of challenges. In the end his loyalty, bravery and devotion paid off.
