DOGS, CATS BEATEN TO DEATH, COOKED, EATEN IN CHINA

It's a cultural tradition in China.

Beating these animals to death releases the blood, so they taste better.

Animals are chopped up and cooked before diners.

Cats and dogs were withdrawn from the menu during the Olympics, so as not to upset visitors.

A group of Chinese activists in Yulin City, Guangxi province, descended on the dog meat market campaigning against eating the animals.
