It appears friendship has no boundaries for a man and a bumble bee that he saved from a bucket of water in his greenhouse.

The unlikely moment is filmed by the insect's saviour, Dylan Jermaine Trayez, and appears to show the bee waving back at him as he 'dries out' on a sunflower.

The Auckland man can be heard greeting the tiny creature and asking it to 'wave.'

In the video Mr Trayez can be heard saying: 'Yay! What's up mister bumblebee? Hey bro. You're the man … Yeah What's up?'

The tiny insect can then be seen lifting its left leg in a salute of acknowledgment to Mr Trayez's request.

The original post read: 'Just saved this bumble bee from a bucket of water in my greenhouse, and put him on my sunflower to dry out. He was very appreciative.'

The video has since been picked up across social media with users in awe of the incredible moment.
