Another sign of our disturbing world. And an alarming fact: Legal euthanasia in Belgium and Holland is out of control.

An article about the Auschwitz visit by euthanasia doctors appeared on the Daily Mail in July, but Der Spiegel has just posted its own article and photo gallery on the subject.

A group of Belgium's leading practitioners of euthanasia recently visited the Auschwitz concentration camp memorial to learn more about death and humanity. The trip proved to be just as controversial for the doctors as it did insightful.

Terminally ill patients are placed in a Liverpool facility where they are denied food and water until they die - quite often with the patient still conscious, and without notifying relatives. After the Daily Mail exposure of this scandal, the British health service announced changes. But the practice continues, and considering the many scandals frequently uncovered in the UK health system, it is doubtful that abuses won't continue to occur
