ANCIENT JEWISH JERUSALEM AT NIGHT
- As president Trump announces the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, we should not put much stock on his words. He signed the usual six-month waver against moving the US embassy to Jerusalem for another six months.
- Trump has repeatedly said that he is guided by what is good for America, not what is good for other nations. Israel is on its own, and can only count on its own people for survival.
- History shows that the USA, in particular, has betrayed Israel at crucial times for the sake of American and Arab interests.
In the meantime there is an almost surreal tone to the news these days, as the utterly self-righteous media condemns Trump and Alabama voters for supporting candidate Roy Moore. CNN never misses a chance to call Moore a "child molester," although Moore's team found ample evidence discrediting his accusers. - The so-called child, a 14 year old girl, was so out of control at the time Moore is alleged to have met her, that her mother was in a custody battle with her father. NEWSFLASH December 8 - ACCUSER ADMITS FORGING YEARBOOK NOTE - Beverly Young Nelson has finally admitted that she forged a portion of the infamous high school yearbook that she and attorney Gloria Allred used as proof of her accusations against U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore. Nelson is accusing Moore of attempting to assault her when she was just 16-years-old. Read more further down this page.- At the same time, this self-righteous media sustains that the principle of respecting Israel's historical right to Jerusalem should be put aside to avoid angering the Arabs and disrupting the Middle East.

Oh, and incidentally, the media and all pro-Arab supporters don't think twice about celebrating Christmas - the birth of a Jewish child in Jewish Israel - while at the same time they claim that Jerusalem and Biblical Israel do not belong to the Jews but to the Arab occupiers.- And shamefully, most major Christian denominations side with Islam, while condemning the "Jewish occupation". Several popes have met repeatedly with Palestinian Jew-killing terrorists, with whom they have held warm relations. How would they explain this alliance to their Jewish Jesus?

Islam's tenuous connection to Jerusalem

Jerusalem is never mentioned in the Quran and Mohammed never set foot on Its soil.
Despite 1,300 years of Muslim Arab rule, Jerusalem was never the capital of an Arab entity, nor was it ever mentioned in the Palestine Liberation Organization’s covenant until Israel regained control of East Jerusalem in the Six-Day War of 1967. Overall, the role of Jerusalem in Islam is best understood as the outcome of political exigencies impacting religious belief.
Mohammed, who founded Islam in 622 CE, was born and raised in present-day Saudi Arabia and never set foot in Jerusalem. His connection to the city came years after his death when the Dome of the Rock shrine and the al-Aqsa mosque were built in 688 and 691, respectively, their construction spurred by political and religious rivalries.
In 638 CE, the Caliph (or successor to Mohammed) Omar and his invading armies captured Jerusalem from the Byzantine Empire.

One reason they wanted to erect a holy structure in Jerusalem was to proclaim Islam’s supremacy over Christianity and its most important shrine, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
More important was the power struggle within Islam itself. The Damascus-based Umayyad Caliphs who controlled Jerusalem wanted to establish an alternative holy site if their rivals blocked access to Mecca.
That was important because the Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca, was (and remains today) one of the Five Pillars of Islam. As a result, they built what became known as the Dome of the Rock shrine and the adjacent mosque.
To enhance the prestige of the ‘substitute Mecca,’ the Jerusalem mosque was named al-Aqsa. It means ‘the furthest mosque’ in Arabic, but has far broader implications, since it is the same phrase used in a key passage of the Quran called “The Night Journey.”
In that passage, Mohammed arrives at ‘al-Aqsa’ on a winged steed accompanied by the Archangel Gabriel; from there they ascend into heaven for a divine meeting with Allah, after which Mohammed returns to Mecca.
Naming the Jerusalem mosque al-Aqsa was an attempt to say the Dome of the Rock was the very spot from which Mohammed ascended to heaven, thus tying Jerusalem to divine revelation in Islamic belief. The problem however, is that Mohammed died in the year 632, nearly 50 years before the first construction of the al-Aqsa Mosque was completed.

During those centuries, many Islamic sites in Jerusalem fell into disrepair and in 1016 the Dome of the Rock collapsed.

Still, for 1,300 years, various Islamic dynasties (Syrian, Egyptian and Turkish) continued to govern Jerusalem as part of their overall control of the Land of Israel, disrupted only by the Crusaders.
What is amazing is that over that period, not one Islamic dynasty ever made Jerusalem its capital.
By the 19th century Jerusalem had been so neglected by Islamic rulers that several prominent Western writers who visited Jerusalem were moved to write about it.
French writer Gustav Flaubert, for example, found “ruins everywhere” during his visit in 1850 when it was part of the Turkish Empire (1516-1917).
Seventeen years later Mark Twain wrote that Jerusalem had “become a pauper village.”
Indeed, Jerusalem’s importance in the Islamic world only appears evident when non-Muslims (including the Crusaders, the British and the Jews) control or capture the city. Only at those points in history did Islamic leaders claim Jerusalem as their third most holy city after Mecca and Medina.
That was again the case in 1967, when Israel captured Jordanian-controlled East Jerusalem (and the Old City) during the 1967 Six-Day War.
Oddly, the PLO’s National Covenant, written in 1964, never mentioned Jerusalem.
Only after Israel regained control of the entire city did the PLO ‘update’ its Covenant to include Jerusalem.

Police and top Israeli authorities are sometimes complicit with the Arabs desecration of Jewish sites and their takeover of Jerusalem.

But a Jewish group that ascended the Mount in recent days observed what may be the most egregious example of Temple Mount desecration yet – the dumping of trash right on the mount, just meters from the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which Muslims claim as their third-holiest site.
The group observed a dump truck about to release its contents, and called police over to intervene. Instead of stopping the truck driver, police filmed the Jewish group, and demanded that they identify themselves. The Jewish group demanded to know the identity of the dumpers, who they said were committing a crime – but to no avail.

The Temple Mount is Judaism's holiest site. It is the location of the two Holy Temples of Jerusalem - the latter of which was destroyed by the Romans in 70CE - and according to some Jewish traditions it is the point from which the creation of the world began.

On the issue of the yearbook signature, Jauregui said Moore did not sign it and argued the signature was not consistent with Moore’s handwriting. Beverly Young Nelson has finally admitted that she forged a portion of the infamous high school yearbook that she and attorney Gloria Allred used as proof of her accusations against U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore.
And in yet another blow to the credibility of ABC News, the disgraced, left-wing network downplayed the bombshell by presenting this admission of forgery as adding “notes” to the inscription.
“Nelson admits she did make notes to the inscription,” ABC News tells us, “But the message was all Roy Moore.”
“Beverly he signed your yearbook,”ABC News reporter Tom Llamas says.
“He did sign it,” she replies.
“And you made some notes underneath.”
“Yes,” Nelson says.
And then, after a woman admits to forging a document used in a campaign to destroy the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Alabama, ABC News quickly moves on as though it is not news of extraordinary consequence.
Nelson is accusing Moore of attempting to assault her when she was just 16-years-old. With the election just four days away, this admission of forgery could not come at a better time for Moore. Nelson and Allred are planning a news conference later Friday, but nothing will overcome the forgery admission.
How can anyone believe anything she says after admitting to such a thing? Early reports are that Nelson and Allred will produce an expert to prove the rest of the yearbook is not a forgery. So a proven forger is bringing in her own expert. What an insult to the people of Alabama.
Another problem with Nelson is that she has motive to lie and forge, as a circuit judge, Moore ruled against her in a 1999 divorce case.
The Moore campaign have been pressuring Nelson and Allred for weeks to submit the yearbook for independent handwriting analysis. Now everyone knows why that request was rejected and ignored.
With Nelson now thoroughly discredited, this leaves two accusers against Moore.
One is Leigh Corfman, who claims Moore molested her as a 14 year-old child. She is the most credible of the three, but the narrative behind her story, that Moore’s abuse resulted in Corfman living a troubled life of “drinking, drugs, boyfriends, and a suicide attempt,” is directly contradicted by contemporaneous court records.
Moore’s final accuser is Tina Johnson, a woman who claims Moore groped her butt in his office in 1991. But again, as was the case with Corfman and Nelson, the left-wing media outlets reporting these allegations (The Washington Post, AL.com) either failed to fully vet the accusers or withheld crucial context.
Thanks to New Media going behind these discredited outlets to fact check the reporting, we now know that Johnson did not tell the entire truth. She was not in Moore’s office “on business.”
If she was in Moore’s office at all, it was due to a bitter custody battle where Moore represented Johnson’s mother, who was trying to gain custody of Johnson’s 12 year-old son based on the claim that Johnson was a “unfit, absent, and unstable mother.”
If the media and the accusers and Gloria Allred told the full truth to begin with, they would all be more credible.

As far as the accusations against Moore involving him wanting to date teenage girls, those are trumped up charges, utter nonsense. The age of consent in Alabama was and is 16.
Moreover, 40- years-ago it was not at all uncommon in the South for 32-year-old man to seek a much younger bride. So, not only did Moore not break the law, he was not violating any social mores.
