BEAUTIFUL PRAGUE UNDER WATER
Worse flooding in a decade
State of emergency in six regions of the Czech Republic due to severe floods. Several days of steady rain have inundated the city of Prague. Areas to the south and north of the Czech capital were submerged, including the city's zoo, in the worst flooding in a decade. Zoo animals were relocated.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I first saw Prague in May of 1992, just a couple of years after the breakup of the Soviet Union. It is a magical city, incredibly beautiful, that managed to preserve its ancient buildings through the centuries.
I remember standing in front of the medieval astronomical clock in the old city hall - the same I had seen on a travel magazine just a few months before - still trying to believe I was really there. I strolled Prague in a state of enchantment, as if I was inside a beautiful postcard.
