MOTH DISGUISES AS A SPIDER

Deception plays a big part in the survival game.

From camouflage markings, to fake eyes in the back of the head,  to a complete disguise like that of this moth that looks so much like a real spider.  The LYGODIUM SPIDER MOTH mimics the shape of a spider so as to deter predators from attacking it.  The wings have patterns that resemble the eight legs of a spider.  It lives in Thailand and feeds on ferns.

Deception is not ony a need but an art. We disapprove of it when we are on the losing end, but celebrate it when it allows us to win.  Winston Churchill availed himself of lots of deceptive measures in the war against the Nazis.  These days all our countries make use of spies to gain information, and all of them are being deceptive - for what their countries regard as a good cause.
