THE RAINBOW TREE - NATURE AS ARTIST

The Eucalyptus Deglupta is also known as ‘Rainbow gum’, or ‘Rainbow bark tree because of the spectrum of colors that are dispersed all over their bark. They add a distinctive element to landscape, giving the feeling of being in some fantasy land.

See nature’s own abstract paintings! These barks possess the most colorful hues and artistic compositions, as if they have been painted by some proficient artist.

Coverings of outer bark shed annually, whilst showing a brilliant green inner bark. The green color gradually darkens over time, and matures to give purple, orange, blue, and then maroon tones. Hence, the colors largely indicate the age of the bark.

They are specially cultivated as ornamental trees and grow best in tropical and subtropical climates. They can be as long as 70 m.

They can be found in forests throughout the entire world and it is the only species of eucalyptus that occurs naturally on the northern hemisphere.

They are essentially cultivated for pulpwood creation purposes. The fragrance and the aura of these trees are famous to lift anyone’s senses.
