WHY ARE SOME MUSLIM STATES WILLING TO FIGHT ISIS? - Not because of ISIS practices (which are consistent with true Islam and holy books), but because ISIS threatens their hold on power

ISIS is the true Islam
Why the sudden Muslim and Western outrage over ISIS?
Muslim violence and abuse of human rights have been going on for many centuries and are common practice today, even among "moderate" Muslim states.

The West's silence
Our media and our politicians have remained silent about abuses in allied Muslim countries, while blaming excesses on "misunderstanders of Islam".

A previous article on this blog exposed Western leadership's hypocrisy in denouncing ISIS but remaining silent about their Muslim allies' horrific traditions of abuse of human rights, particularly those of dissidents, and of women and children, slavery, decapitations in the name of "justice," and so on.

The case of Saudi Arabia
The Saudis held at least 20 decapitations in the month of August alone - often in Justice Square, for everyone to see.  And that's only one example.  In spite of the country's record, President Bush held hands with the Saudi ruler, and President Obama bowed to him.

And so, why the Muslim countries' outrage over ISIS?
Some people may be perplexed as to why some fairly orthodox Muslim rulers' show such enthusiastic willingness to restrain ISIS.  (Read column by Barry Rubin explaining this - with added references - further on.)

If ISIS seems more extreme is only because it's on its conquest stage.  Once it solidifies power and consolidates territory, ISIS will be almost as "moderate" as those Muslim states the United States calls its allies, the same that nurture terrorists and advocate jihadism.

Remember that the 9/11 terrorists came from the US ally, Saudi Arabia.  And that Qatar, the White House's best friend, finances ISIS and other terror groups.

Islam's history of violence
In fact, the ISIS bloody conquest is only one more chapter in the many centuries old factional and very bloody war between Sunni and Shia.

This war started right after the death of their prophet Mohammed over a dispute of who had the right to be his successor.  And Sunnis and Shias have been killing each other ever since, even as one faction or another invaded other lands and established dominance through carnage.

Think of Africa, India, Israel itself - even parts of Europe in the past.  It's the real reason behind the Iraq and Syria civil wars in our day.  It's the reason for the current rivalry between factions and countries in the Middle East.  Which faction will dominate over Iraq?  Over Syria?  Which country will dominate the entire region.  Shia Iran?  Sunni Saudi Arabia?  Sunni Turkey?

ISIS is the real Islam
But here appears a blast from the past.  ISIS  is what Islam has been trying to hide from us all along - with the complicity of Western liberals -  pretending to be the Religion of Peace, the victims of Western colonialism.

ISIS is the real Islam of their sacred books, the one they truly believe in.  Whatever depredations ISIS is perpetrating, they are all based on Islam's sacred books.

If you are a true Muslim you must believe in conquering the world and converting other populations by the sword - or if circumstances do not allow it, then by gaining hold of other lands by means of infiltration and demographic growth, and then through a violent fight for power.

If you are a true Muslim, you believe in mutilation and even decapitation as expressions of justice.  And in no mercy for dissenters.  And much more.

In fact, the emergence of ISIS should be an opportunity to educate the West on a forgotten part of history and on the true reality of Muslim rule in the world.

Western media and politicians are lying to us about Islam
Unfortunately the media and politicians - often motivated by corruption (all that Muslim money flowing into their coffers), or by fear of offending Islam - continue to perpetuate the myth of Islam as a religion of peace, and to blame the most blatant violent excesses of ISIS and other "misunderstanders of Islam" on a tiny minority.  They deliberately choose to ignore the doctrine of Islam - for all to see on Islam's holy books.

WHY ARE MUSLIMS DENOUNCING THE ISLAMIC STATE (ISIS)?

By Barry Rubin

Barry Rubin
The lightning rise of the Islamic State (IS or ISIS) terrorist group, with their shocking beheadings of American journalists and mass rapes and enslavement of women and children has greatly disturbed the apathy of the free world and, most likely, forced it to take unexpected action.

What is more surprising, however, is the eager rush of some of the worst terror-supporting nations in the Islamic world, countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia, to either officially or unofficially join the burgeoning American-led coalition preparing to attack ISIS in a big way.

Remember - these are nations that routinely cut off the hands of shoplifters, that don’t allow women to drive, and/or sentence to death a Muslim who changes his religion.

Beheadings are not unheard of in these countries, and are considered to be an acceptable form of punishment, especially since Muhammad, the founder of Islam, is known (from Islamic sources) to have proudly beheaded between 600-900 Jews in one day.

Despite the not-so-grand tradition of beheadings in the Islamic world, the Islamic State phenomenon has threatened the entrenched regimes in the Middle East with its rapid rise to power, as well as its openly stated desire to establish an Islamic caliphate, leading to worldwide Islamic rule under its leadership.

The idea of an Islamic caliphate is one that few believing Muslims would object to in theory, but presumably, this ISIS led crusade would not honor the leadership of the royal family of Saudi Arabia, which is generally happy to support terrorism, as long as it doesn’t threaten the kingdom’s rule and its vast oil proceeds.

Ah, but this Islamic State group is different – fighting  for Allah with a fierce passion and no-holds barred fanaticism and belief in the righteousness of its cause – with little regard for the interests of the corrupt despots in the broader Islamic world.

Even the ideological Ayatollahs of Iran, staunch supporters of global terrorism and enemies of both “the Great Satan” (the USA) and the Little Satan” (Israel) aren’t pure enough in the eyes of Islamic State, and besides, the Ayatollahs are of the rival Shiite Muslims, as opposed to the Sunni fighters of the Islamic State.

The internal Islamic rivalries have long baffled the Western world, which tends to see things through the eyes of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and equal rights. The Islamic world is firmly based on the principle of Jihad, or holy war against what it calls the unbelievers.

The real question is not whether the Muslim leaders will support Jihad, as expressed by the terrorist acts carried out against Israel, the USA, the UK, and other free countries.

All believing Muslims must support, at least secretly or passively, anything that they think will eventually lead to the destruction of both Israel and the United States and to the weakening and eventual elimination of Western, or Judeo-Christian civilization.

This is straight from the doctrine of the Muslim Brotherhood, which calls for a “Jihadist process to destroy and eliminate the Western Civilization from within.”

The Muslim Brotherhood may often use non-violent means to achieve the same goals as their more radical Muslim brothers in Islamic State, which currently uses brutal violence and public humiliation, but the goals are the same.

There is, however, one element in this complex situation that trumps all, and that is self-interest. The king and the princes in Saudi Arabia want to maintain their perceived role as the leader of Sunni Islam and the esteemed guardian of the holy places in Mecca, and they certainly do not want to be dominated by Islamic State.

Similarly, the Ayatollahs of Iran are proud leaders of Shiite Islam and aspiring leaders of all Muslims. They are also primary sponsors of the Hezbollah and Hamas terrorist organizations, as well as feverishly pursuing the nuclear bomb with the ability to destroy Israel, but not only Israel.

These nations do not want to lose their power, nor do they want to lose their dominant roles, and if the United States-led coalition has the potential to cut The Islamic State down to size, then they will be in favor and will lend their support.

Despite the nefarious goals that are shared by all of these Islamic players, all believing in the Islamic revolution and an eventual worldwide Islamic caliphate, self-interest comes first. And that is what will determine the Middle East battles in the coming weeks and months.
