BUILDING'S SUN REFLECTION STRONG ENOUGH TO MELT CARS

September 4, 2013 - Revealed: Architect Rafael Vinoly who designed 'Walkie Scorchie' skyscraper in London also built Vegas 'death ray' hotel that BURNED guests

So he knew! He knew about the effect of that architectural shape, and did it again!

It's a huge modern building in London in the shape of a Walkie Talkie, and that's exactly its name. Its concave shape has the effect of concentrating and reflecting the sun's rays at a certain angle. The result is heat high enough to melt metal objects, singe carpets, and fry eggs. This effect is considered basic physics but it took architects by surprise.

The question now is what to do with this heat weapon in the middle of the city.

Oh, the law of unintended consequences strikes again...
