I post the following article with reluctance. It is nauseating how Israel feels obligated to justify the process of defending itself to nations that either perpetrated the Holocaust, or stood idle while Jews burned.
The Allies intervention during World War II took specific care NOT to bomb the railroads used by Nazis to transport victims to the death camps. They also took care NOT to bomb the crematoria used in those camps.
Documents show the Allies did not want the expense and the bother of looking after too many Jewish survivors in post-war Europe.
Previously they had also made sure they did NOT allow desperate European Jews to obtain visas for the United States, Britain, Canada, and other countries. They let them be tortured, slaved, starved, gassed and burned.
Today those same perpetrators of the Holocaust and their collaborators (Europe, Britain, the United States) have arrogated to themselves the right to micromanage Israel demanding Israelis not to build homes in their own land (after murdering them in Europe), and determining when and how they cannot defend themselves against Arab terrorists. All the while funding and pampering the same Arabs who proclaim their intent to destroy Israel and the Jews.
To put it succinctly: The nations that perpetrated the Holocaust and those that allowed it to happen have outsourced the completion of the Final Solution to the Arabs.
One fact that is rarely mentioned is that this is not just a Jewish-Palestinian conflict. This is a Jewish-Arab conflict. Tiny Israel is surrounded by large and well-armed Arab countries with huge armies. Those Arab countries have repeatedly attacked Israel, and will do so again.
And guess who has been arming those Arab countries? The United States of America. While pressuring Israel to shrink even more... for peace.

The State Department is scolding Israel --
attacking Israel, in fact -- for firing back at Hamas terrorists who hid behind
UNRWA facilities in Gaza. What kind of ally is this?
The U.S. State Department has attacked its ally, Israel, for returning fire
in combat when Hamas and allied terrorists shelled its soldiers or fired rockets
at Israeli civilians from within and around UNWRA facilities.
It is standard military practice that American own troops have carried out thousands of times in Afghanistan, Mosul and elsewhere around the world without ever issuing even one leaflet of warning to the population, let alone a phone call requesting residents to leave.

The buildings under discussion are owned by the United Nations Works and
Relief Agency (UNRWA) and were sheltering Gazans who were displaced by the
combat initiated by Hamas. The situation made a very juicy, deliberate photo op
for the terrorists, as noted in the terrorist
training manual captured earlier in the summer by the IDF.

The terrorists were exploiting the United Nations facilities as rocket
launching sites and in some cases, as weapons storage facilities, and were
operating very close to the buildings where the Gaza civilians were staying, in
a deliberate and cynical use of human shields. All this has been documented.

from which to launch attacks against Israeli civilians. Satellite imagery
documented the evidence.
And all of which seemingly has been ignored by the State Department, which
scored Israel for returning fire to the source of attacks on its civilians and
soldiers.
State Department spokesperson Marie Harf told reporters at a briefing this past Thursday, “We were horrified by the strikes that hit UNWRA facilities.”
As a matter of fact, it is not at all clear that any Israeli shells actually hit UNRWA facilities while they were occupied. There is satellite imagery and video documentation that the buildings were empty at the time that a single Israeli shell struck an UNWRA building.
Other shells that struck around UNRWA buildings and in a courtyard and were aimed directly with surgical precision at the terrorists who were being targeted precisely because they were firing rockets at Israeli civilians, and at Israeli soldiers.
None of which apparently mattered to the United States, even though the use of human shields does not preclude the legal right to wage war against a legitimate military target in international law.
“The suspicion that militants are operating nearby does not justify strikes that put at risk the lives of so many innocent civilians,” Harf said. “Israeli authorities say they’re investigating. We expect these to be investigated thoroughly and promptly, and we’ll continue pushing them to do so.”
A bit hostile for a representative of a nation that bills itself as Israel’s “greatest friend in the world”.
Harf’s remarks followed a report issued earlier in the day by the Human Rights Watch organization, which has accused Israel of committing war crimes with “indiscriminate targeting of civilians” at three UNRWA schools — without offering evidence to back up its claims, of course.
Funny how HRW did not bother to mention anything about the indiscriminate rain of rocket fire – literally thousands of rockets, missiles and mortars — that Hamas poured down upon Israeli families.
But the group claimed that Israel “did not appear to target a military objective” in two out of three of the attacks near UNRWA schools, specifically in Beit Hanoun and Jabaliya. The group also said the third attack, in Rafah, was “unlawfully disproportionate.”
Israel has documented with satellite imagery the rocket and missile terror attacks that emanated from within and directly next to Beit Hanoun on July 24; Jabaliya on July 30; and Rafah on August 3.
It was in Rafah that Hamas carried out an ambush 90 minutes after the start of another supposed cease-fire, with a suicide bomber murdering two soldiers while a second group kidnapped Lt. Hadar Goldin, dragging his dead body into a nearby terrorist tunnel.
The unit that Goldin commanded carried out the ‘Hannibal protocol’ as they had been taught in such circumstances, attempting to rescue their commander and if not, then to prevent the further progress of spiriting his body away.
HRW referred to all three attacks as “deliberate or reckless” and thus tagged them as war crimes.
The group also accused the IDF of a past history of not meeting international standards for “credible, impartial and independent investigations” to determine whether its forces committed war crimes. At present, some 99 incidents that occurred during Operation Protective Edge are under investigation by the IDF.
To this day, Hamas has yet to conduct even one investigation into its own conduct; thus far the group — like the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) — has publicly executed more than two dozen civilians, simply on the suspicion they may have collaborated with Israel.
Perhaps there is something wrong with my memory, but I don’t recall any public executions in Israel to punish those suspected of treason — even the Israeli Arab MK who actually did commit treason and managed to sneak out of the country, and still remains at large — or for that matter, even legislated death sentences passed against convicted murderous terrorists. Even the United States has a death sentence — and many states carry it out on a regular basis. Check out that record in Texas, for instance.
