PHYSICS NEWS -

IS THERE A DARK MATTER UNIVERSE LIKE OURS?

Complete with particles, galaxies, the whole bit?  Maybe even dark matter beings?

It is estimated that 25 percent of the universe mass is dark matter - invisible, undetectable, elusive to scientists' probings - but definitely there because it affects the way our galaxies move and the speed of expansion of the universe.

Scientists have been getting indirect clues that suggest the presence of dark matter, such as the ratio of positrons to electrons.  For those speaking the language of physics, this is exciting talk, suggesting that they may be closing in to peripheral evidence of dark matter.

The other mystery that eludes scientists is Dark Energy, which makes up 70 percent of the universe.

Normal matter and energy amount to less than 5 percent of the total, this being the stuff we are familiar with here on Earth and in space.  Less than five percent!

We live submerged in an invisible ocean of mystery about which we know nothing.  That is why it has always puzzled me the confidence with which our top physicists speak of the Theory of Everything.   They seem to forget that they are trying to formulate a TOE with less than 5% of the total.  What kind of 'everything' is that?

What we need is another Einstein who will conjure up out of nothing another big theory to account for at least part of the 95% theoretical physicists pretend is not there.
