A capybara struts across a fairway at the official Rio golf course during a practice round on Day 3
  • Rio's official Olympics golf course is located between two lakes within the Marapendi Natural Reserve
  • The area is home to a number of animals, some which have reared their heads as the players train
  • A burrowing owl created a stir on Tuesday as it poked its head from a den in a bunker on the ninth hole
  • Players already reported seeing capybaras - the worlds largest rodent - and a caiman, a close relative of an alligator
  • The animals are NOT amused.

  • Australian team captain Ian Baker-Finch said he was taken aback when he first spotted the native South American rodent pottering around the course
The largest rodent in the world happens to be the super-cute capybara.

Spain's Sergio Garcia and Austria's Bernd Wiesberger were also pictured taking a snapshot of a capybara, which is capable of staying underwater for up to five minutes
Just leave me alone, I'm busy - this capybara seems to be saying.

'The capybara, that bloody thing is huge... It's like a six-month old pig,'  Baker-Finch said of the semi-aquatic rodent
    Capybaras love water.

The long-legged bird perched itself near a bunker where it had dug out a burrow, or stolen one from another animal
This owl watches the antics of golfers and finds it all very annoying.

The owl almost appeared displeased that the peace and quiet in the reserve had been disturbed by the athletes
Just get out of my territory, you silly apes

They yellow-eyed bird - whose natural habitat is underground - glared at the elite golfers from the shadows as they practised after it retreated back to its den in a bunker on the ninth hole
What part of GET OUT is it that you don't understand?

The greens and fairways of the Olympic Golf Course in Rio are located between two large lakes within the Marapendi Natural Reserve which is inhabited by an array of critters
You don't get the message, do you?  Go home!

A burrowing owl created a stir on Thursday after the long-legged bird started wandering around the brand new golf course looking for breakfast as players tried to warm up ahead of Rio's first day of golfing competition in more than a century

The owl lingered around as the first round of the gold tournament commenced on Day 6 of the 2016 Olympic Games
     They're still here?

Images of the caiman peeking out through the reeds at visiting competitors have emerged on social media, with Austria's Wiesberger joking there were some 'extra hazards' on the green this week
    Just leave it to me.

A caiman, a cousin of alligators, shares the outrage with this unfriendly look.
