Some of you will find this story a little silly. But take a look at other headlines online. Humans are behaving very, very badly. They commit depravities and the most heinous crimes to satisfy their deviant minds and religious beliefs. And sadistic crimes against animals seem to be on the rise.
No. There is no reason to be proud of our species. If some people adore their pets and elevate them to a place of honor, is because they fully deserve it.
Daily Mail: Dog-loving bride and groom enlist their PUG as ring bearer - even kitting him out in a miniature kilt and jacket on their big day
Laura and Andrew Watson of Scotland enlisted their pug Gilbert as ring bearer. The pooch was dressed in a miniature tux and his very own kilt.

For most couples on their big day, the ring bearer is a nephew or niece or young child - however, one couple enlisted the help of their pet pug, even kitting him out in a kilt and jacket for their wedding.
Eight-year-old Gilbert did the honours for Laura and Andrew Watson, who live in Edinburgh, in a show-stopping performance as they tied the knot last month.
The pooch carried out his duties exceptionally well, trotting down the aisle to the sound of claps from the guests, and only starting to bark when Laura and Andrew exchanged the wedding bands he had carried in a pouch on his back.
Laura , 32, said it was natural having Gilbert be part of her big day.
She said: 'Everybody loved Gilbert's part in the ceremony. It was like the highlight of the wedding him being the ring bearer.
'He's part of the family so I really wanted him to be involved in the wedding.'
Laura says she was inspired to enlist her pet in the wedding after seeing other animals perform the role.
She continued: 'I was watching something on television while we were planning the wedding and I saw people using birds as the ring bearers, I thought if birds can do it why not dogs.
'Then I looked it up and it seemed possible so I thought Gilbert could definitely do it, he's a good dog.
'We put his outfit on a couple of times to make sure he was alright with it, but he was absolutely fine - I think he quite liked it. He just sat down good as gold as I put it on.'
Laura, a project manager, has had the well-behaved dog since he was one year old and has made him a major part of her life.
She said: 'When Andrew and I got together I always joked he would have to accept Gilbert - but the pair of them have always got on really well which is sweet.
'He's my little baby - he's the child I don't have. Andrew could have everything - the house or anything - but the dog's always mine.'
Laura and Andrew, 35, married at Balbirnie House Hotel in Falkirk after being together for three and a half years.
They live together in Edinburgh and originally met through work in the financial sector.
Laura said: 'The day itself was amazing, it feels like a total dream now. The weather was perfect.
'We went to the Maldives for a week on our honeymoon. Unfortunately we had to leave Gilbert at home - if I could have taken him I would have. So he had a holiday at his in-laws.
'He always looks so sad when I leave him, though, he tilts his head and puts on his sad eyes.'
The wedding was also not Gilbert's first time in a costume, as Laura often dresses him up for special occasions, such as Superman and reindeer outfits.
And Laura admits she takes him everywhere with her when she can.
She said: 'Gilbert is such a good dog. We take him everywhere with us.
'We can go out for dinner or to the pub, and if you're allowed dogs we take him with us and he's as good as gold.
'Even when I go out with the girls or if I have to travel back down to England he's great on the train as well.'
