Guests at this year's Comic-Con will be treated to the sight of the beloved Peanuts character Snoopy soaring through the San Diego skies atop his signature red doghouse.
The display featuring the cartoon canine is the brainchild of inventor Otto Dieffenbach, who built a drone shaped like Charlie Brown's pet beagle from illustrator Charles Schulz's classic comic strip.
The anthropomorphic pooch equipped with a rotating head wears an aviator helmet and goggles, and is perched on the roof of his crimson kennel, which houses a fully functional drone.
The whimsical aircraft was designed, constructed and tested by Dieffenbach and his company, Flyguy Promotions, which produces Identifiable Flying Objects, or IFOs, for marketing purposes.
Dieffenbach said his latest creation was inspired by the trailer for the upcoming The Peanuts Movie, which hits theatres November 6, reported The Daily Dot.
Test flight: Dieffenbach, the marketing and events director and Flyguy Promotions, first unveiled the whimsical quadcopter back in February
The movie, directed by Steve Martino, follows Snoopy as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron.
The promotional clip for the animated feature shows the little white pooch straddling his flying doghouse.
Dieffenbach first tested his Snoopy drone back in February but kept it grounded for the past five months in anticipation of the big comic book convention in San Diego.

Aviator: Dieffenbach is a graduate of the Air Force Academy
