NORTH DAKOTA MAN CAPTURES AMAZING VIDEO LOOKING UP AT TORNADO

CTV NEWS - Now this is a view of a tornado you don’t usually see – looking straight up as it violently twists overhead.

The last time you may have seen something like this was in the movie Twister, but the video Dan Yorgason shot Monday at a trailer park in North Dakota is completely real.

Yorgason was at home when his friend and neighbour, Abram Schiff, texted him that a storm was coming.  “I checked outside to step under the rain – because I like summer rains – and I looked to the right to the east and didn’t see anything. Then I looked to the west and saw it coming,” he told the New York Daily News.

No sirens alerted the workers at the trailer park that houses oil patch workers near Watford City.  “The tornado was coming down the hill along our only escape route,” Yorgason told The Associated Press. “There was nowhere for us to go. It was crazy.”

Yorgason and Schiff weren’t wearing shoes and didn’t grab belongings as they rushed for their truck, thinking that was safer than the mobile home. But they realized the tornado’s path was in the way of the only road out of the park and there is no way to outrun a tornado.
