BALLET DANCERS IN MAGICAL POSES IN REAL WORLD SETTINGS

Classical ballet is in my opinion the most beautiful art form ever.  So here is a series of pictures of ballerinas posing in real world settings.

The effect is just as magical.

Helen Ruiz: The ballerina looks at one with the ocean in this twilight image taken in South Beach, Miami

Claire Unabia: This is the first photograph Dane Shitagi took for the Ballerina Project, back in 1994 in Manoa Falls, Honolulu

Stephanie Williams: A cubic sculpture makes the perfect frame for the dancer's elegant pose in Brooklyn Bridge Park with the bridge and city skyline rising in the background

Isabella Boylston: Wearing a one-piece with a picture of a ferocious-looking shark on the front, the dancer gracefully prances along Big Beach in Maui

Ballet - even if you only practice it in the privacy of your home - is excellent for your body and spirit.  There are videos that can coach you on how to strengthen your body for ballet workouts and dance.  However, dancing in your own way in your room while listening to ballet music, or just listening to the music itself can do wonders for your spirit.

The New York City Ballet Workout is probably the best training video available.  There is Part 1 and Part 2
