REASON WHY GIANT OARFISH WASHED UP ON CALIFORNIA BEACH STILL A MYSTERY

 
Scientists found that one of the oarfish was pregnant, and the other was full of tapeworms. 
 
These animals, who live at a depth of 3000 ft (915 meters), feed on zooplankton and crustaceans.  They are the largest bony fish in the sea and can grow up to 50 ft.
