Bacteria help each other defeat antibiotics by sharing weaponry with weaker members.
They plot, they 'think', they strategize, they evolve - These tiny things can defeat the most powerful human army.
New study reveals that the more antibiotic resistant cells within a bacterial population produce and share small molecules with less resistant cells, making them more resistant to antibiotic killing.
This reveals not only communication between bacteria, but intelligent communication with a strategic aim of defeating antibiotic weaponry. This is nothing less than amazing.

While they are often our enemies, microbes can also be our allies and friends - 90% of our body's cells are microbes.
Our bodies are 90% microbial and 10% human. Human cells are larger so we look human, but in numbers alone microbes outnumber our human component 9 to 1! - Links to pictures here - http://ottersandsciencenews.blogspot.ca/2013/05/psychology-issues-who-is-in-charge-of.html
