THE MOST POWERFUL GLUE EVER

FOUND IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST CLINGING FISH

The six-inch Clinging Fish can stick with an adhesive force up to 230 times its bodyweight

It is shaped like a tadpole, covered with slime, and has a wide, flattened head.  His modified fins act as suction disks to hold on to rocks in spite of being constantly hit by crashing waves.  To achieve such stickiness,  it has tiny hairs called microvilli, similar to those found on a gecko' feet.

Researchers are studying the clinging fish to devise a more effective adhesive for the market.
