TECH NEWS -

CELLPHONES  COULD  SOON  SPY  ON  YOUR  BRAINWAVES

And sell the information

Information collected from apps and based on signals given off by your brain waves could one day, when this technology is used by cell phones, be sold commercially.

Brain-computer interfaces have been used for decades in the medical field, particularly in aids for disabled patients. But the technology is becoming cheaper and used in games, self-monitoring tools, elecroencephalography (EEG), and computers controlled by brain waves.  From your brain to the computer, hands free, voice free..

NEUROMARKETING avails itself of data from BRAIN-COMPUTER INTERFACES or BCIs to measure reactions by focus groups to ads and products.  This has been done already.

A couple of years ago I watched an experiment on TV with with a guy walking through a department store wearing electrodes attached to his skull, while his reactions to the merchandise were being remotely monitored.  It was still in the developmental stage then. But not for long.

The darker side of this technology is that it could be used by police, insurance companies, employers (who already feel entitled to demand your Facebook account password), or an insanely jealous spouse.  Just let your imagination run free, while it still can.
