Extremophile Galdieria Sulphuraria is a red alga that is as happy feeding on bacteria in Yellowstone hot springs as in dark underground caustic environments filled with arsenic and other heavy metals.
Scientists are trying to discover how it has evolved to thrive in such extreme conditions.
